What we build must above all show the strength of our recovery more than the severity of our wounds. Any retreat from the scale of the destroyed Towers is an act of surrender to the will of those who slaughtered thousands, and a betrayal of those who died at their hands. Terrorists sought to humble America, to “cut us down to size”, and we disgrace ourselves unless we show their failure rather than their success. We must build anew in a fashion that inspires awe, through both immensity and ingenuity, and fulfills the great motto of the Empire State: “Excelsior”…ever upward!
The Surrender Tower or Insanity Tower is substantially an empty shell of modern, ugly design. It’s no replacement for the magnificent Twin Towers. By not rebuilding them, we tell the world that we are too afraid to rebuild New York City.
The Freedom Tower only restores the skyline halfway. Two soaring Twin Towers would honor those we lost by celebrating their lives and standing as a proud symbol of our resilience and defiance against those who wish to destroy us.
It sickens me to see politicians put their political agenda before America, and to settle for surrender to our enemies. We MUST RE-BUILD the Twin Towers, and show the world that America will not surrender! We must make America happen again! Anything less, such as the ‘Freedom Tower’, should be named Alqueda Plaza, wit a big fat white flag on top of it, showi9ng our pathetic lack of pride and belief in all that has made America the hope and inspiration to the world.
New York City isn’t New York City without the Twin Towers. When the original towers were built, they completed the New York City skyline. I see no reason why the towers can’t be rebuilt. Just be more careful as far as security this time around. The Twin Towers need to stand tall in New York again.
Rebuilding the Twin Towers is the only way to bring back what we lost as New Yorkers, and for our great city. By not rebuilding, we’re giving in to those awful cave dwellers and letting politicians stand in our way. When something is destroyed, it’s rebuilt! Why is it that other countries are getting taller buildings but we can’t get Twin Towers, this is an insult, a shame! Let’s start over, no more nonsense or political talk. It’s time to REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AND BETTER! I missed them!
THE TOWERS NEED TO BE REBUILD,FOR THE HEALING PROCESS TO BE COMPLETE & TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THOSE PEOPLE THAT BOUGHT THE TOWERS DOWN,THAT WE WILL ALWAYS RISE UP ,FROM THE ASHES.
Let’s not build a monument that will give Osama and his cowardly pigs an opportunity to boast that an elaborate new tower is really a tribute to their success. Rebuild the towers as they were, but stronger! Show the world we’re still here, but stronger! Let the towers be our symbol of strength and determination to rid the world of the Osama virus.
The ONLY possible thing to do is restore the great Twin Towers! How can one unattractive building replace two magnificent structures that stood for Peace? This is New York Engineering at its best and skyscrapers that defined a skyline!
NYC desreves the WTC back !! We should at least get a tower back which is a landmark as the WTC was!! It would takeapprox. ten years to build so many memoroes from some people will have lighten a bit. Tom
i don’t know ANYONE who doesnt prefer rebuilding to what they plan now. The people did not choose this design. corporate greed and those with power and influence did. The terr@rists are attacking democracy…and without rebuilding, theyve succeeded!
The Twin Towers should be rebuilt the way they were, if not, then taller. We should not allow terrorists the satisfaction that they destroyed our buildings and took away so many lives. We can not replace lives, but WE CAN REBUILD!!
I just want to express my support for the cause of rebuilding the 110 story twin towers just as they were or even better and taller. I am also extremely disappointed with the Freedom Tower design. To me, this is a travesty that shouts retreat to those who would destroy our way of life. I don’t know why the developers or the city felt a need to hold an “international” competition to come up with a design for the Word Trade Center. Are there not enough American architects? This was an American tragedy, so why are the Europeans designing the building?
The twin towers not only conferred a bold and unique topography to the New York skyline, they also provided comforting reassurance of ones proximity to the greatest city on earth to the 5 boroughs and as far away as Westchester and Monmouth counties.
We should rebuild the Twin Towers, just as they were, but better, stronger and, just to poke it in the eye of those who brought the first ones down, a little bit taller.
I am stunned that our politicians have not demanded the Twin Towers be rebuilt. The citizens will need to take over this issue. What better way of showing the terrorists they will not change our way of life?
To allow the towers not to be rebuilt shows that our will is weak, and that we can be defeated at home! The towers should be rebuilt, just the same as they were, as an outward sign of our determination to overcome and defeat terrorists.
If anything besides the Twin Towers gets built, it will just be a sad reminder of what used to be there. Please bring back the skyline we only know of and love. I miss the Twin Towers.
The greatest memorial and the greatest show of the American spirit would be to construct the twin towers back to look just like the original symbol of this great city and country.
As we united on that awful day, we must unite to remove all obstacles that stand in objection to putting those marvelous structures back where they stood.
Anything other than the twin towers is a nothing more than a reminder of what was once there and is no longer. Rebuilding the towers is meant to show that we will stand up after we get knocked down – that in itself is a memorial all on it’s own.
Its time to make the skyline look correct again. The day the towers fell, a part of my life was changed forever. I know it won’t change that, but, it will make things look more like they should
Rebuild the Towers.Put them back up as they were. To do anything else shows the world that they can come to our country, steal our planes and destroy anything they like, and we will take it. Put back the Twin Towers as they were. We are Americans, and no one will ever take that from us. Show the world that we stand tall and proud.
Anytime I would get on the NJ Turnpike, or go over the Raritan bridge, I would always strain to find the towers on the horizon. My loss was small compared to others, Astrid Sohan the girl that gave me my first kiss.
With all respect to the people who have lost someone. The politians are only using greed and their own agenda’s rebuilding ground zero. The towers going up are the only way to stand up to these terrorists.
I think we as a nation have waited long enough for restoration not only of the towers, but of hope, pride and promise of a new beginning and new light!
Anything less than a complete rebuild of what was once there is an insult to Americans, and a sign of fear to the terrorist, LETS REBUILD BIGGER AND BETTER THAN BEFORE!!!!
We absolutely have to rebuild the Towers: the most powerful memorial and the most powerful statement we can possibly make of our determination to defeat and uphold the banner of freedom for the world.
Let’s rebuild. It will hopefully help in giving us all a sense of things returning to normal even though we know things will never be the same. Those towers belonged to all of us.
I went through the WTC PATH station every day for over 15 years. My company celebrated our X-mas party at Windows on the World in Dec 2000. There were no X-mas celebrations there in 2001. The towers must be re-built!
Bring them back!! Don’t let the terrorist win and dictate what we can and cannot build here. It’s our country, our state, our city. Let’s go Pataki. Let’s go Bloomberg. Let’s go Corzine. Stop ignoring us!!
I grew up in Brooklyn and had the best view of The Towers. The Towers must go back up or the terrorists win. When I was little and had a nightmare I would run to the window and see the Towers and know everthing was OK. Now when I go back it’s sad.
The Twin Towers should be rebuilt EXACTLY as before — or taller. The fact that they were destroyed by acts of terrorism means that they have become a symbol for what needs be done, not what expedience allows.
As a military vet and an American I support the rebuilding of the WTC.
Just as a matter of defiance against the terrorists (the “in your face, you will not defeat us” principle) we were from the beginning and are obligated still today to rebuild them, perhaps even bigger than they were before.
The current proposal is a surrender to the terrorists, a capitulation to them. Personally it makes me sick to see it!
Were is Americas bravado???
Were is the defiance against evil?
I’m tired of the fear mongering by the Bush administration. I live on Long Island and I do not live in fear of another attack. To those who are afraid to rebuild the twin towers, I say crawl in a six foot hole. As for me, I will not change the way I live because something may or maynot happen.
The best way to tell the terrorists that they’ve lost is to put the Towers back exactly as they were before. Increase safety, but replace the skyline as it used to be.
I never had a chance to visit the towers. My heart sank on that day and all I could think about was revenge and how to get even. That hate and want for revenge turned me toward a realization that if turned to a life of hate, racism and I would have fallen victim to the terrorism that took the Towers and more then 3,000 lives. Justice will eventually catch up to the criminals and those who follow their footsteps. Rebuild the Towers and show them what America is really made of.
I miss the Towers. If we don’t replace them, the terrorists win. Anything less than the majestic structures that once dominated our skyline is a sell out to fear. Let’s unite and rebuild the Twin Towers!
I’ll never forget walking through 5 World Trade and out onto Church Street at 8:30 on 9/11. I am one of the lucky ones. I have spent my entire adult working life around those buildings. To look at the current proposal for the Freedom Tower is, for me, depressing and wholely unsatisfactory. Yes, I lost 2 people in the towers and I have to say that those of us who pine for a lasting memorial will get no more fitting tribute to their loved ones than two restored towers.
Those two Towers should represent a clear message to any citizen of the civilized world who loves and believes in freedom…together we stand, divided we fall…those two symbols need to be seen by everyone in the world once more.
I live in Rockland Co. and was greatly affected by the events of that day and those that followed in many ways. On a clear day, we could see the towers by looking straight down rt. 17 from as far away as Ramsey NJ. Rebuild them to show we did recover
No political comment here. It’s still a pig with lipstick. You can dress these buildings up, make them shiny and new, but we will not be the Americans we were until those two towers shine again. And we will be better and stronger seeing that skyline.
Why don’t you people get it? We don’t want a shabby substitute or a shiny one.
We want what they took away.
Anything built at Ground Zero, other than the original Twin Towers, is an admission of defeat.
We are better than that. We are Americans. And Americans want the Twin Towers built!
If we do not Build eather the same but taller we have been defeated. We are a Strong Nation, We need to build the tallest building in the world, cause WE ARE NUMBER ONE.
I have been in favor of rebuilding the original twin towers from the beginning. We must be defiant in the eyes of our enemies, and courageous in the eyes of our friends.
I also believe that the twin towers ought to be rebuilt in their original footprints.
We must listen to the spirits of the brave Americans who perished on 9/11. They shout in one voice: rebuild the towers!
It is appalling that the Pentagon was rebuilt within a year of its 9/11 calamity, while here in NYC we still have an empty, lifeless pit almost five years on. REBUILD THE WTC AS IT WAS!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!
Rebuild the Twin Towers, not the uninspiring freedom tower that means nothing to NYC and the people of the great USA. The dirty polititions who want the freedom tower build should be sent packing in discrace.
If the Capitol Building, the White House, the Statue of Liberty had been destroyed, they would have been rebuilt as they were, because that would be the only way to truly defy the will of the terrorists. Why should the Twin Towers be any different?
I have believed and stated from the very beginning that the towers should be put back exactly as they were before the attack. That’s the biggest “f” you I can think of to show tose bastards they will NOT change us or our way of life. Stay strong, never forget and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!
The terrorists wanted the towers gone to rebuild with nothing less then 2 more twin towers is a disgrace to all americans. They need to be rebuilt to show them We may get knocked down but from the ashes WE RISE UP stronger then before
I think it’s a wonderful idea to rebuild what we have lost. When you lose a home or a business, what do you do? Rebuild it. It’s only right to rebuild the Twin Towers as they once were. The 2 same and tall buildings that we once looked upon and in hopes that our children and childrens children will be able to look upon and enjoy as we once did. Let’s show the world that 9/11 didn’t bring Us down by just letting It look like ground zero. Let our voices and hearts be heard and let’s let the r
Let’s rebuild the towers as they were, but taller still! That’ll send the people who would tear down our way of life a clear message. Ain’t gonna happen!
Build them back the way they were and add another 30 stories to them! It is inconceivable that New York should be shamed into the ugliness that Libeskind design will bring onto our city! Let a private group deal with it and stop the interference!
Rebuilding the twin towers would be my dream come true. If they had destroyed the Statue of Liberty would we have replaced it with something else. NO! This new design looks like a twisted skeleton for some worlds fair. It’s ugly! Get Donald Trump to rebuild the Twin Towers and it would never come down again. It would also be completed on time.
I would like to see the twin towers rebuilt – not this Freedom Tower hooey. Since I moved to the East and all the time I worked downtown, they were a symbol of NY to me. To replace them with some fancy pants design would be a disappointment.
Rebuilding the towers higher than before would be an important act of self-assertion on the part of America, and an important demonstration to our enemies that we will not give in.
Yes, myself and many, many others would like to see the Twin Towers rebuilt as soon as possible, without delay. We can never claim victory in the war on terror without rebuilding the Twin Towers.
Yes, I strongly agree that we should rebuild the twin tower as it was, only stronger. I think it would show to the world that how strong our nation is.
The towers should look exactly the way they did, majestic. Any engineering by strengthening of the structure itself should come into play, but as far as the appearance of the towers, let them stand exactly as they did and the skyline of NYC will send a great message to everyone who can see it.
If the twin towers were rebuilt exactly the way they were, it would be the most symbolic thing that the U.S. has ever done. It would be somewhat of a “slap in the face” to all the terrorists.
I think the Towers should be rebuilt, Don’t forget all the Americans that died on 9/11. Let’s do this in memory of them, if not for anyone or anything else. Do not let the terrorists win!
I agree that the best option is to rebuild the Twin Towers to reflect the true strength of our country and our citizens and to show the world that we will not cower in the face of terrorism.
The towers should be rebuilt and all that nonsense of the freedom tower shoud go down the drain. We need a stronger icon such as the Twin Towers to show the world and the terrorist that we have never been defeated and we rise again but this time, we won’t fall
There is only one opiton -REBUILD.
To see the Towers stand TALL again will be one step towards justice against those who murdered and destroyed on 9-11.
The best memorial is to rebuild the buildings … to add a memorial room (like a chapel in a hospital)would be a nice addition, but the buildings should be rebuilt.
The twin towers were targeted by our enemies because they represented all that is great about America: free enterprise, individual rights and above all, the pursuit of happiness here on earth. Our enemies, the islamic militants, beleive in death worship and hatred of all that is held sacred by our society.
We need to rebuild the twin towers as soon as possible, but even taller than before. We need to show our enemies and more importantly to ourselves, that we are winning and we will beat them!
Similiar to so many other residents of New York, I watched The Twin Towers built originally and they meant so much to The Nation, including The World upon completion. The destuction of The Twin Towers has removed a vital piece of Society! The Twin Towers represented Man’s ability to live together in harmony! Unfortunately The Towers no longer exist. However, if they were replaced with the same structures or Taller that would honor All Who were Lost on 9-11!
My hometowns skyline is not the same without the twins. rebuilding as they were says to the filth that helped destroy them
“we will not be terrorized.”
I PERSONALLY GREW UP WITH THE PILOT (VICTOR SARACINI) OF THE SECOND PLANE THAT CRASHED IN THE SECOND TWIN TOWER. I AM ONLY TOO HAPPY FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE MY NAME ADDED ON AND TO PASS THIS ON TO ALL MY ONLINE FRIENDS SO THEY CAN DO SO. THANK YOU!
The twin towers were iconic and the losses, as well as their physical loss from our skyline in such a horrific way will never be forgotten. The ultimate symbol of the strength and commitment of New Yorkers and the larger community would be to raise a new set of towers on the same site. Perhaps they should be distinctly different and certainly they should include a memorial. Just think of the potent meaning of the word “rebuild”!
true new yorkers are “in your face”. I can think of no better response NY or America could give the terrorists. Rebuild; show them we are NOT afraid. We give terrorists the power by letting them influence our decisions, and showing them we are scared.
9/11 was the 1st time I was glad that my father & mother were no longer alive. I cannot imagine what people who lived through the Depression & World War II would have thought. However, it would be a greater torture to see that we no longer have the can do spirit & guts to rebuild what had been stolen from us. This is the 1st time in US history that we have been intimidated. This is the true victory for the terrorists. To no rebuild is a blight on our national psyche. Losing is un-American.
I saw the towers that morning, before they were hit, as I drove the turnpike North on my way to work. I saw the first one fall as I was driving South on my way home to be with my family. I will never forget the anger and sorrow I felt at that moment. Build them better and stronger and UP YOURS OSAMA!
Rebuilding hte towers as they stood, or a close faximile of extremely higher structual rigidity has been my desire since the fall. The symbolic image of seeing the towers again is a powerful thing and would show that attack can be overcome.
We could probably recoup much of the already-lost tap-dance time by reusing the existing foundations. Isn’t that why we spent so much time and money shoring them up?
I hope New Yorker Donald Trump will re-build us our towers and one story higher. Please do not allow the hard left PC crowd to manifest their planned contempt for all of the people who died on that day and afterwards, or for those who are even now becoming ill from that disaster. The current plans are clearly heavily weighted in favor of their anti-American propaganda.
Thank You for the opportunity to make our opinions and wishes known.
Rebuild the Towers! Bigger and better than before. Anything less is a victory for these cowardly vermin. It is often said that everything changed on that dastardly day. That will be true only if we let it happen. I, for one, refuse to give an inch. The United States is the greatest country ever to exist and its people the finest. God Bless America!
Rebuild the twin towers but with one exception,….add 1 more floor to each tower then they originaly had, making the statement to the world that we’re back bigger and better then ever.
It’s been almost 5 years now since that horrible day. Let’s show the world our strength, our resilience, our determination as Americans to preserve our way of life… and also as New Yorkers, to preserve the historic skyline of the greatest city in the world!
Let’s put back the Twin Towers just as they were… only about 100x stronger!
I, along with other New Yorkers’, feel we should rebuild the towers exact, only one story higher, positioning them so the footprints remain untouched. How could we have anything else in our beautiful NEW YORK skyline?
Knowing people who have lost their lives on 911,. I can begin to heal once the towers are rebuilt. I don’t care about the design as long as there are 2 and they are at least the same height if not taller.
It would be nothing short of a sign of weakness to not rebuild the twin towers to either there same greatness or even better. The current idea that makes this new tower higher then the orignal is ridiculous. They only reason it would be higher is because of the stupid spire. How about building them back to original height then adding a spire.
Those “Twin Towers”…were so apt…they represented “partnership” don’t you think? We LOVED THEM. They became our “friends” in lower Manhattan. When I saw the first designs of the new plan…with that singular building with the sword-like top piercing the sky, I thought of it as villanous, unfriendly, threatening…is that what we want to become? Bring us back our old friends, the Twin Towers!
Rebuild The Twin Towers, Rebuild spirit of New York City!!! They are still fighting over there at the WTC site and nothing is getting done. Bring back The Twin Towers, give back to the city of what it should be as well for the people!!! Its not the same with out the Twin Towers there. I hope and pray that the Twin Towers will be rebuilt!!!
By rebuilding the towers it would show the enemy that
they didn’t succeed in destroying our spirit. We feel
that the people who lost their lives there would want
the buildings replaced.
No other construction will ever be able to replace the original 2 towers within the skyline of NYC or in our hearts.
Rebuild the same 2 towers. Do not settle for less and do not give in to fear and intimidation.
Yes, this is what I thought from the beginning. Just build them the same way. The only thing I would add (not seriously) is a hand on top of each tower giving the finger facing East.
Two characters from the show Babylon 5 said it best…
Delenn: By the way, there is something I’ve been wondering. Why Babylon 5? If the prior four stations were lost or destroyed, why build another?
Sinclair: Plain, old human stubbornness, I guess. When something we value is destroyed, we rebuild it. If it’s destroyed again, we rebuild it again. And again, and again, and again – until it stays. That, as our poet Tennyson once said, is the goal: “To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”
Rebuilding the twin towers would boost American morale and pride in our country’s ability to rise above challenges. It would also be a slap in the face of the jihadists.
The only acceptable replacement for our towers is an exact replica of what was robbed from us, but taller. One story or one inch, I don’t care, just taller. We must send a message of resilience and defiance to the demonic barbarians who perpetrated this deplorable act. Nothing will assuage the pain of that day, but any other edifice will only serve to remind us of what we lost, and convey the message to them that they’ve won. Our skyline needs healing, and so do we.
We can best honor those we lost through rebuilding bigger, better and stronger. The Twin towers represented Grandeur and unity. Best wishes for all those impacted.
We need to rebuild the towers only each tower should be 1 floor higher, and those floors should be the memorial along with a monument next to the new towers.
I grew up going to my backyard, looking up and seeing the towers, that’s how close I was to them.
I was in training (military in Mississippi) on 9/11 – it took me 3days to get back to the tri-state area, my unit provided support for the rescuers @ Ground Hero.
“They” knocked them down and we are obligated to rebuild bigger and stronger Towers! They were a symbol and thus should remain so. A symbol that we can and will rebuild stronger and better each time!
anything less than what was there before is an admission of fear and defeat.in fact, both buildings should be at least one floor higher.have a beautiful museum on the ground floor dedicated to preserving the artifacts and explaining exactly what happened on 9/11.
I wish to add, what is surely implied, the inability to fill the tenant space. As per the usual American businessman desire to see immediate profit they feel that a full size twin tower will not produce a rent payer/profit ratio quickly. I want to remind that the original towers took over 10 years to rent out.
Nothing other than the original structure would be unacceptional. We are a strong city, and should rebuild the World Trade Center just as it was, and add a memorial level for those who lost their lives. Show those terrorists they did not win…
I watched the towers go up and was proud. I watched them crash down and was stunned, distraught and enraged. They need to be built again, to show the jihadis that we are stronger than they are. They can knock us down but we will stand again. I don’t live in NJ now, but I grew up there and still consider it home.
I’ve believed in your cause since 9/11. The twin towers should be rebuilt better then ever as state of the art “green” buildings with passive and active solar heating and cooling systems, an in house water treatment recycling plant, etc. Lets show the world that we americans have the will and the smarts to build self sustaining environmentally friendly fully functional building that can be a model for the rest of the world!!!!
The twin towers were a national monument known the world over. Having them back in their original condition will only increase their presitige and ours. There is no reason to re-invent the wheel. Please just repair the damage to our NYC skyline and show the world the indestructable ROCK that our country is.
I cant think of a better thing to do than build those towers again just the way they were, can you believe the incredible message that would sent, it says: YOU CANT CHANGE ARE WAY OF LIVING, YOU HAVE NO POWER TO DESTROY US, YOU TAKE US DOWN WE GO UP STRONGER AND BETTER,a memorial tower is a: “you hurt us, you won”…well no!!! Lets build the meorial somewhere else, but as we rebuild those stronger towers we rebuild a solid strong America, and those towers are not going down never again.
I agree 100% that the only thing that should go back on that spot are original design of the lost towers. Nothing else will work in that spot. Don’t let progress in construction destroy the beautiful skyline that we had. We owe it to the many lost to give them back what was there.
I would like to see New York become the city I remember. Before the cowards who sucker punched us. I like Donald Trump’s version of re-build the towers one floor higher.
I also would like to dismantle the UN and free up prime NYC waterfront property. Re-locate the diplomats to new digs at the new World Trade Center. What better place for them to work from? The top floors of the new trade centers should contain any memorials. Also the replacement of the towers would be fitting tribute to all.
I want to say that i’m very ANGRY that someone would do such a thing. I remember exactly where I was 5 years ago. If it was another event, I wouldn’t have remembered but this event was so terrifying, so tragic that it is stuck in my mind and heart forever. On september 11th, 2001, i was sitting on the left side of my grade 6 class sitting beside my bestfriend and when i was listening, I started to cry. I was scared out of our own sake in canada. I was terrified and it brings me to tears.
We will never know the real reason for the attacks. No matter how much some one thinks they know.We however not just as Americans, but as people must stop the hate. What does violence solve? You can win a war but what does it mean? How do you fight an idea? How do you fight a war when the enemy is an opinion based on what we dont know? The war is in ourselves.Someone has to be the better person and initiate it.Starting with building the towers the way they were, and rebuild ourselves on both sides.
I live 70+ miles away from Ground Zero, but work less than a block away. It is depressing to not see the 2 proud towers standing there anymore. My Grandfather worked on the towers at some point during construction. The Twin Towers always made me feel good every time I saw them from any angle and any distance.
Very early on I thought we should rebuild the towers exactly as they were before. This would send a message to the Jihadists and the world that we will not be defeated, that we will rebuild and rise again. If twin towers were to be built again, they would need extremely high security inside and outside- that would be my only concern. And would they get tenants?
The Twin Towers played an important part in each and every person’s life who perished on that fatal day. Some earned a living there, while others supplied the needs of this miniature city within a city so large as to have it’s own zip-code. The only true way to memorialize those we lost is to rebuild the towers as they were with an additional floor on each tower to serve as a memorial for victims.
the original twin tower buildings were a part of our majestic new york city skyline.they are sorely missed along with all of the heros that died there, too.the world trade center brought all races, colors and creeds together into a community-like working environment.the twin towers represented strength for new york city.build them back with a 100% safer infrastructure!God bless.
I believe that by not rebuilding the Twin Towers we will make a very bad mistake. We will be saying that the terrorists have won we rebuilt the Pentagon. After the White House was burned down after the 1812 war it was rebuilt. Why not the Twin Towers?
As a native New Yorker, rebuilding the Towers would serve as an act of defiance and strength against the terrorists who took them down on that day. In building the Freedom Tower, those of us who knew and saw the Twin Towers everyday will still feel the gaping hole that lingers in our minds and hearts of the buildings that made New York the greatest city in the world.
I think we should rebuild the towers and add a floor. Lets show the terrorists that America’s spirit was not diminished. Now that were up to speed with armed pilots and better security, there’s no fear of a future incident.
I’m a former NJ resident. I still have some family up there and my oldest daughter now lives back there. I now live in Reston, VA, which is 25 miles outside of Washington, DC. Watched the F-16s fly overhead afterwards to protect us. When I graduated from high school in 1970 I obtained a job working in New York right down the street from where they built the original towers. What a site it was to see them going up in the air!!! Build them as they were! They were beautiful!!!
Put the towers back! That other plan is urban blight. The only right thing to do is return the skyline we ALL grew up with. The Freedom tower has nothing to do with greatness or freedom. It only serves to prove our transition from a world power to a bunch of cowards.
As an architecture student, I was not fond of the design. However that is not the point. From the moment I watched them fall, I believed they should be rebuilt to the exact same specifications as the originals. I still feel that way.
The isalmo facists are always carping about their holy sites being desecrated by the mere existence us ‘infidels’. Well to me, the Twin Towers were as an important a symbol of the city I love as any mosque is to those who seek to destroy Western Civilization. Building something other than the Twin Towers in Lower Manhattan is to say to the terrorists- You Won!
The Twin Towers were a symbol, not only of New York, but of America, they embodied some of the tenants of our nation. They should be rebuilt bigger and stronger then they were to show the world that we are still here and that we are not, were not and will never be afraid.
Please rebuild the towers. They were an American icon. When they were lost I felt as if a part of me was lost as well. The new design just does not cut it. Only by replacing the towers will we be even more united against the enemy again. Nothing can look as beautiful as the Twin Towers.
Build the towers just as they were only taller and station a couple of Marines on the observation deck of one of them with Stinger missles. Make sure they face Mecca while you’re at it.
God Bless the US our President, warfighters, firefighters, EMS and police officers.
http://www.helpeddieryan.com
A young Marine who joined up because of the terrorist attacks and needs your help NOW. Thank you.
Yes! Restore the Manhatten skyline exactly as it was
pre 9/11. What greater testament to American resilience than to rebuild the twin towers exactly as they were.
The Twin Towers should be restored to their former glory almost like the way that they were back in 1973 when the project completed. C’mon, even Donald Trump dislikes the current building plans. That alone should mean something needs to be changed.
The only lasting memorial to the victims of 9/11 – and to restore a symbol of who we are as a free nation – would be to rebuild the twin towers even stronger than they were before.
WE ALREADY HAD NUMBERS 1-7 WTC. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE RE-BUILDING AND THE MEMORIAL CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED SIMULTANEOUSLY — JUST CALL THE NEW TOWERS 9 – 11 WTC.
Rebuilding as it was and maybe even a bit taller is the only response that is acceptable to show the world that the United States does not cower to terrorism.
I grew up on Long Island. I remember being at relatives in Astoria, & if the night’s lighting was right you could see the tops of the Towers. I remember standing up against the side of the Tower’s unique architecture and looking straight up in amazement at such a feat of engineering & construction. I remember taking my wife to the the top of the Tower. And I remember watching in horror & disbelief when the Towers came crashing down, my heart burst open that day, life has never been the same.
I agree let’s rebuild the towers as big if not bigger than they were before and restore the NYC skyline. Anything less is a disgrace that is showing the terrorist that they have won. Let’s notify the people in OUR government that it is they who must follow our will, and it is not the other way around.
Rebuild the Towers 100 feet higher than before! There is no better way to honor those who perished on 9/11. And no better way to make a statement to our enemies that the American Spirit can not be broken!
Take us back to where we belong. Return the towers and build them taller. Return the same design to show the world that we still retain the great qualities we had on Sept 10…that we’re still optimistic, generous and looking forward. But build them taller as a warning that we recognize we live in a Sept 12 world and we’re stronger, vigilant and resolved. Dare them to come again.
Choosing not to rebuild is choosing to be controlled by terrorists.
The Twin Towers are what NYC chose to have prior to 9/11. We should restore our city and our country to show we have not be defeated and to honor our lost Americans and their families.
The Twin Towers should be built back the way they were and bring back the historic New York City Skyline.
No other buildings could ever replace that view.
Why is this country losing it’s courage? Build the towers back to spec and let’s kick all these dirty politicians out of office- it’s time to take America back, and there is not a single one of these globalist/billionaire politicians that have such plans, so we must get loud.
Rebuild the towers in the memory of those lost and as a testament to the spirit of this great nation. Let us stand tall and rebuid the towers over and over again if need be!
I was fortunate enough as a child to watch these towers being built, and to me they were and are every bit as important as the Statue of Liberty. I also agree that the only way to tell all comers that the will of the USA will not break in the face of attack is to put things back as they were and rebuild the towers exactly as they were.
Lets not allow the bureaucrats to use this as an opportunity to create another self serving money pit.
REBUILD THE TOWERS!!!
Why let the enemy decide our fate? Rebuilding shows them that we will not be cowed by their anger, and we are still strong, no matter what they throw at us. Lets show our children that we stood up just when the world thought we would crumble, and that we refused to falter, even when everyone else thought we would break. Rebuild the towers!
I was living in Clifton on September 11th and saw the towers burn from Grove Street near my home. I was in the Marine Reserve at the time and have been on active duty for three years since then to the mideast and Iraq.
I think there should be something equal to or bigger than the WTC towers to show the world our steadfastness. When the Arizona was sunk at Pearl Harbor they built new battleships that were bigger and better to replace her. Not just for the war, but for the show of resolve.
What a better way to show American resolve than to rebuild the towers. If you need to re-enforce them and get them up to current code, even better. The Freedom Tower is ugly and an eye sore, bring back our “twins”!
do not allow our enmies to control or dictate to america. boldly rebuild the twin towers. any other construction would be a permanent statue and symbol of our surrender to the will of the enemy, and for them to perpetually gloat over their their act of demeaning our nation.
We must never forget what 9/11 meant to our nation. It should spur us all on to greater virtue and all that is best about our Nation and its people: freedom, honor, compassion, justice, neighborliness, fear of God, a sense of brotherhood, respect for life, self-sacrifice. People like George Soros are sworn enemies of the USA and all it stands for. He and those infamous, America-hating traitorous, God-less individuals like him should be promptly escorted to our borders and evicted from our land.
Frankly, I’m surprised that rebuilding them isn’t the first and only option on the table. Of course they should be rebuilt! New York needs its towers back. This country needs its dignity back. It’s the only thing that will truly heal the gaping wound left by 9-11. Their very existence would be a memorial to all who lost their lives on that idle Tuesday morning. And they would be a classic New York “thumb your nose” response to the terrorists who sought to bring us to our knees.
I can remember as a college student visiting NYC. Looking up from the street below the twin towers. It was an awsome sight to behold! The view from the obsrvation deck was fantastic. The NYC skyline just isn’t the same without the towers. The best tribute we could make to the thousands of Americans who were murdered that day would be to rebuild the towers. Maybe a little taller and a lot stronger! Let the terrorists know that they can’t stop America! God bless the victims and their families
The WTC must be rebuilt just the way it was. I worked in the WTC area for nearly 10 years (Wall and Broad Streets) and agree nothing else could be a better plan.
My first thought on 9/11 was: let’s build them back bigger and stronger! It is a disgrace that nothing has been done after 7 years to mark the place and keep the memory alive.
Dress and grace the NYC skyline again with a rebuild of the finest buildings that ever stood. New York City just isn’t New York City without the gentle giants “The Twin Towers” We need more people that will stand by their decisions to re-erect the most amazing architectual gems in the history of man. Rebuild the 4.4 million sq. ft. Put up another 43,600 windows. Let another 80,000 people come through the observation decks daily, for a second time. I’m only 14 years old, but i don’t care if people say i’m too young to comment and so forth. My dream was to feel the feeling of being on top of the skyscraping giants, and to breathe the air 1,350 feet up, and to see the most amazing view in the world. Now, that’s impossible. The city of New York needs them back to re-claim it’s reputation, not only for that reason, but it would show that the nation isn’t afriad to get back up and fight, even when it’s knocked to the ground. Again, re-dress and grace the New York city skyline, with a new World Trade Center.
WTC 4 Life everyone! WTC 4 Life! Ever since 9/11 i am sure we all realized by now that the WTC arent just buildings anymore…they are much more then that, i hope you realize what i mean, we must do whats right and unite together to rebuild what was lost, it isnt to late to do the right thing everyone…NYC isnt NYC without the WTC, the WTC is the TRUE meaning of NYC, Freedom, and America. We all must work together to rebuild them, and they will stand for all that is good……
If the White House had been destroyed would they have rebuilt it? YES! If any of the Monuments in DC were destroyed for any reason would they rebuild them? YES! GIVE US BACK OUR MONUMENT! Nothing else will do. This website is a testament to the faith and love of not only NEW YORKERS but all Americans as well as tourist who love our City and our Country and came from all corners of the world to see and climb those buildings before they were destroyed. They were SPECTACULAR!!!! Don’t let us down!
I was in Manhattan on 09/11/01 and was not injured and didn’t lose anyone in the attack.
Even the day of the attack, I felt that the best way to show our enemies that they could attack us but COULD NOT BREAK OUR SPIRIT was to rebuild the towers as they were.
As the planning for the site progressed, I couldn’t believe that rebuilding was not being considered as an option. I hope that finally we can let them know how we feel as a people and do the right thing to replace what was taken from us
WE MUST REBUILD…..Better..BIGGER, more safe..
THAT IS AMERICAN ICON….
God bless vitims of 9/11 and their families…
Must REBUILD….. MUST…
There is no Manhattan without Twin Towers…
Rebuilding the twin towers is the only real way to send the message to the bastards that destroyed them that they cannot topple America! We MUST rise from the ashes like the phoenix and show the world that we will not be taken down. Build them one story taller and put a memorial on the top floor, closest to heaven. I think that the victims would want it that way, and the majority of Americans want it that way. The Pentagon has been rebuilt. Let’s do the same with New York! God Bless America!!!!
i believe the twin towers should be rebuilt as in when you’re knocked down yu get up again to show your strength and determination not to retreat to any sort of evil. if it was the statue of liberty there would no question it would be replaced why not the twin towers. they say they would never rent the high floors i say build it 75% for office space and the top floors for storage space or make it a non occupied restriced area but keep the height the same. TTA Note: There would be no need to leave the top floors empty. There would be more takers to work there than could fit on the top floors.
money and politics should not desecrate this holy, tragic, honorable, day of infamy, site. the towers should return, bigger, safer and without costs considerations. bring back the towers, dont replace it with some cheap fancy buildings.
The Towers were an icon and such a familiar and beloved profile of the cityscape, much like the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. They can ONLY be rebuilt — never replaced.
I have always loved the sight of the Twin Towers. I go to school in Downtown Brooklyn and I am always looking towards Lower Manhattan and not seeing the Twin Towers. I always imagine them still being there. I don’t want to imagine anymore. I want to see the real thing. Rebuild the Twin Towers!!!!
Rebuild The TOWERS. Make them bigger and better so that they are reminiscent of the NY skyline of old but slightly more “magnified” and “more magnificent” than before. JHR
I will always remember New York as the way it was, with two tall towers dominating the skyline. It made me feel like I was home. Now when I look at New York…all I think of is what the media likes to call “the post 9/11 world”. I say lets change things from becoming a “Post 9/11 world” with the fear tower…I mean freedom tower. Make it the way they should be with the original towers standing tall…not with one single tower called the freedom tower. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS! NOT THE FEAR TOWER!
We should rebuild these wonderful landmarks to be a much needed symbol of America’s determination to stand strong and NOT SUBMIT to our enemies no matter how much destruction they try to inflict on us.
Skyscrapers will always be targets. But, if tall buildings are again to be built on this site, then simply the best way to honor those who were lost… would be to replace what never should have been taken. Please, rebuild the twin towers – higher, stronger – better! It is absolutely the morally right thing to do.
Building anything that is not similar to the original WTC is shamefull, misses the mark, and almost equates to being Anti-American in my book. Let those architects design new projects elsewhere, but not here. Would they have totally changed the Statue of Liberty also? The WTC should have been declared a national monument on that horrific day, and all of these non sense feeble designs would have been avoided. HELLO GOVERMENT, CITY OFFICIALS AND ALL OTHERS INVOLVED : Put the WTC back up and lets move on!
they should have been completed already.footprints preserved with new towers at reverse locations next to the original footprints serving as memorials.at least call that freedom thing the world trade center. it’s almost like the planners were happy they came down so now they could fix all that was wrong with the old sight, restore streets, improve transit, reduce windy conditions.come on.they never were supposed to come down.we should have put them respectfully back up.
NYC must rebuild the towers… I have lost too many friends and family members to 9/11, they would want them rebuilt. My family has many memories of the twin towers so we want them rebuilt just the way they were.
every one is still in my prayers. i am so glad they made the monument.they may try to hurt us ( our country or our military) but we are still the LAND OF THE FREE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
The twin towers were obviously one of the most, if not the most, iconic features of New York City. They were the fusion of beauty, prestige, and simplicity. One great way to send a statement of American resolve against the fear and plight of terrorism would be to rebuild the very thing the terrorists took away. To rebuild the towers would not only restore a powerful symbol of New York, but send a clear message that our people and our country can and will rebuild anything our enemies destroy.
They built the Empire State building in a year. We need to rebuild the Twin Towers, perhaps the same as they were, but stronger and with no such weakness as in the original design. And we need to do it… now
From 9-12-2001 until present day this idea has been on my mind. The pentagon was not changed after the attacks on 9-11. If the Towers were left standing they would not have been torn down and a “Freedom Tower” built in its place. The Towers are an icon not just a building. Ladies and Gentlemen this is the United States of America. We do it bigger, better, stronger, and faster than anyone else. Lets make that known by our actions and not just idle chatter.
To whom it may concern, Its been almost 7 years and we still have nothing to show for where the twin towers once stood. The freedom tower sounds nice, but I here it has serious design flaws, and I think it sends a message to the terroists that were afraid to rebuild the twin towers. What better way to show the world, the super power we really our by re-building the twin towers, and make them taller, and stronger. This will truly show that, “WE WILL NEVER FORGET”
Rebuild them now, just like they were or bigger even. It is time to do what everyone knows must be done, bring them Back. None of this Freedom Tower nonsense. Show the bastards that we can pick ourselves right back up from the ashes no matter what gets thrown at us. It would signify that we can come back just as strong as we were before if not stronger.
The twin towers must be rebuilt. The best memorial to those who were lost is rebuilding what was there. Not to mention, we rebuilt the Pentagon as it was, why should towers be any different?
As a former NYC couple, and friends who greive along with many others, we truly want to bring back what was our city’s glory….the Twin Towers!! We believe in going forward and not looking back, not allowing the terrorists to claim what is ours, they shall never have our city!! Never shall they have our hearts, minds or our souls and least of all our homes and the things we treasure, our freedoms. God bless everyone who continues to sign this petition to reconstruct the Twin Towers, AMEN!
I’ve been saying this from the start. Rebuilding the Twin Towers is the only logical and emotional answer. If we really intend to show the world our strength, then we need to ditch the current plan, which is simply 21st century eye candy and self indulgent bravado. And the fact that they want to charge admission to the memorial is a disgrace. This abomination should be filed where it belongs: the city dump! Bring Back The Towers!!
I remember going to the top of the Twin Towers and marvelling at the spectacular view of the city that stands for America – bring that view back for all – God bless America!
Make the skyline whole again! Allow our memories of those we lost to last forever as we gaze at that wonderful view in remembrance of them. Those buildings are the only thing we can bring back :-(
Bring the Twin Towers back. Not only does it restore the amazing skyline, and leave a lasting rememberance to the fallen, it will show the world that our resolve as a nation is one!! To rebuild and grow stronger!!! Not replace with a weak understated facsimile!!
I was born in NJ and now I am a New Yorker, when I was little I used to walk the streets and stare up in complete amazement of the two strong twins and two stronger better twins would restore NY and the world. We need two towers.
One freedom Tower will always look like half a job done – a monument to weakness, greed and political corruption and a submission to terrorism. Build two! No Brainer. Rebuild the New Skyline bigger and better than ever for the world to see and literally look up to. You could even have the upper floors atriums that becomes a monument and they are always lit 24/7/365
Just imagine in your mind…The Twin Towers rising up the Two Towers rising up in the NY skyline. The spirits of Ny’ers and Americans and citizens of the world alike watching it get bigger, better, and safer day by day. Then laughing cuz terror wont be able to stop it or bring them down cuz we will strive to protect these buildings and the people who work there!
I used to live in Manhattan for 3 years from 1994-1997. i was born in 1992. the last time I revisted the REAL WTC Twin Towers was in December 2000, and I want to revist the complex standing ontop the Twin towers II! not a necropolis like “Freedom Tower”. The REAL, TRUE freedom towers are the twin towers and i too want them to build the Twin Towers II BIGGER, BETTER STRONGER! WE WANT TO SHOW AL QUEDA THAT WERE NOT WEAK AND THAT WE WILL KICK THEIR FU**ING A**
The strongest statement we can make, not just as New Yorkers, but as Americans is to erect two more towers. Make them taller and out of the strongest, most perfect materials we have and place whatever memorials to those who perished inside. Let’s show the enemy the strength of our economy, society, and way of life outwardly and memorialize those lost within the walls of the two greatest buildings in the free world.
We cannot allow the freedom tower to undermine the great people of America. The Twins will eventually become forgotten if they dont return. As many have said as
I say the day the freedom tower is cancelled and the Twins begin there ascent will be the happiest day for me and America in awhile. I hope Paterson and Ward get a copy of the booklet and WAKE UP!
Even though i wasn’t one of those people that had residents in the towers,i am one of those people that think there should be another wtc for everyone to enjoy. This is could be a start of something new. the towers could be more indestuctable and be more aware with cameras in and outside the buildings with one on every side. This could prevent another freak accident and people could be more prepared for something that might happen again. The memory of the towers should not end!!!!
I miss those towers so much. They bring back so many memories in the years before that terrible tragedy. They must be rebuilt because they will inspire us amercians in these tough times ro take an extra step. I can’t wait to step into the new towers. I was 6 when 9/11 happened and I would love to see the new wtc twin towers.
We need to rebuild bigger and better. When someone dies it is impossible to bring them back to life, but we are given a unique opportunity to do just that in this case, bring the Twin Towers back to life instead of being haunted by their absence.
I was on the fence about this issue until I saw Ward last night. To call the Twin Towers nothing more than Real Estate was low and offensive and I’ve had enough! He slithered his way out of answering the demands of 9/11 families and the NYFD/PD. I’m now sickened by their plan and what it ‘stands’ for. 20 or 30 years from now we’ll look at the once mighty Twins in photos etc. and go “why didn’t we just rebuild”? I’m 100% behind you guys now!
I can’t believe I found this site! This was my fierce belief on that terrible day – that they should be put right back up! Not only do they belong there, they’d be two extended middle fingers to those who thought they could bring America down with the Towers. Every other design I’ve seen has been a hideous atrocity. I worked in Lower Manhattan as they were going up, friends and family members worked there and/or were first responders. NY deserves to have its Twin Towers BACK!
TTA Note: The opponents of new Twin Towers have used disinformation, misinformation, and above all, NON-information to enforce their agenda. The most defining tragedy in our lives has been hijacked by an arrogant, self-serving few. The term “un-American” gets used much too much, but it is so correct here.
The World Trade Center IS one of the biggest and greatest landmarks in New York and in United States history.
The Port Authority is stupid for trying to reshape Manhattan’s famous skyline with something so pointless as the Freedom Tower, or as “THEIR” so called One World Trade Center, which is a huge slap in the face to the Twin Towers, for frauding the North Tower’s original name.
As I walked over the 59th street bridge leaving Manhattan on 9/11/01 I looked at the smoke that was the World Trade Center and thought we’ll be determined & rebuild. The thought of not putting them back up is unimaginable to me.
Don’t let them take away our famous skyline! Then they really have made a difference besides taking all of those lives. We must do this to show they haven’t won. Rebuild the Twin Towers!
My father brought us to America when I was just a small child from Moscow, Russia. I love New York City and my father worked in the Twin Towers. We would go to the towers to visit every weekend, and I never got tired of it. The Twin Towers were an important part of not only New York City, but of America. Here now, without them, it just feels like something is missing. It seems almost criminal to take away what so many want back. My father said he would gladly return. I think we should rebuild!
I love New York city and growing up in NJ, it always felt like a second home to me. Traveling is one of my greatest passions and after all I’ve seen, nothing is as great a site as that skyline we had on Sept 10, 2001 and before. The Twin Towers along with the Empire State Building are the greatest sites I’ve ever seen!
Our government has allowed them to win. Between not capturing him and not rebuilding what New York needs and deserves. Not just NY, but the country and the world deserves
If the Statue of Liberty was struck on 9/11, we wouldnt even have an argument in whether to rebuild it or not.
The twin towers represented something more than offices and steel, it was the symbol of western civilization. It would be a disgrace if they are not rebuilt.
I am going to resent the Freedom Tower for the rest of my life if it is erected.
Just because Pataki is too afraid to rebuild the very Towers that were attacked, doesn’t mean he can abuse his power. His idea is not the Freedom Tower. It is the FEAR Tower, and only serves as an example of American paranoia. The idea to rebuild the original buildings is not a dream. Architects have presented actual models of a rebuilt design, adding appropriate safety features that the Port Authority ignored in the 1960s. I have personally seen the top of the WTC, and we deserve better!
When you get knocked down you get back up. You come back bolder and stronger. Rebuild the Twin Towers! The freedom tower isn’t a symbol of america, its a symbol of weakness.
The last time I have seen the Twin Towers was on August 25, 2001. 2 weeks before the attacks. As a Brooklyn-born woman raised in NJ I believe that the Twin Towers weren’t just 2 buildings; they were the heart of New York. Any immigrant who comes here to the US to become a citizen, the first he or she will look at aside from Lady Liberty will be the Twin Towers. I HATE the new 1 World Trade Center tower. IT STINKS!!! REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AND LET’S REBUILD THE PRIDE OF NEW YORK!!!!
America must never be defeated or deprived of its constitutional rights of freedom and ingenuity. Building and rebuilding of America is a continuing process showing the envious world our pride and determination.
I have never seen the world trade center in my life becuse I was born in 1994. I would really love to see the towers rise in the NYC skyline instead of “the pile of junk” Freedom tower. The WTC are my favorite buildngs even though they are gone. I build them with legos and I know basically more than 87 percent of their history.
Rebuilding the WTC would not only be a great symbol, but it’d give a lot more job opporutunities to us hard-working Americans. Do it. Do it now. Do it good.
I could not agree more that the Twin Towers should be built bigger and better than ever. Why must we be so slow wasting our time with red tape when the answer is so obvious. I love this plan and would contribute financially and in any other way I could to see it become a reality. And if your worried about another attack, park the USS Ronald Reagan in the Hudson. Nothing should deter our way of life. Good job to the planners.
These need to be rebuilt. We must show the World that when we get knocked down we are not down and out but better yet we come back bigger and stronger and will not be intimidated by terrorists.
I sent a message to the mayor of NY recommending this “healing” of America. It is NOT the Muslims who are bad, those are NOT true Muslims, they are fakers. Wake Up Before it’s too late!
I might only be a 17 year old guy who has been a New Yorker his whole life living on Long Island. But I can still remember the time very very clearly before 9/11 in the late 90’s when I was always amazed by the New York City skyline and the Twin Towers. I was so stunned by these beautiful buildings that I was completely shocked when 9/11 happened. The point to all of this is to Rebuild the World Trade Center and make our city whole once more. Because if we don’t do anything, who will?
the twin towers should be rebuilt brick by brick, one floor higher as a big f.u. to bin laden…they were the most majestic of all buildings in the world, the guardians of manhattan and of all ny city…i never tired of looking at them and would love to gaze at them one more time…i am thankful i got to go to the roof once in my life and would love to again…please no replacement…rebuild the same…there wont be a dry eye in the city as the rise once again…god bless all 911 victims…
Please rebuild the twin towers..when i was younger i used to look out the window and when i saw the twin towers I KNEW I was in New York….the Freedom Tower would not be the same! I loved those buildings and building something not similar at all is just terribe! LONG LIVE THE WORLD TRADE CENTERS AND BRING THEM BACK!! BIGGER..BETTER (even though they couldnt be much better)..STRONGER like the design they showed on youtube pretty much the same except stronger and one extra floor on each building!!
An excavated piece of land does not honor the lives lost on 9/11. The proposed Freedom Tower does not properly honor them. Rebuilding the twin towers is only way to go. It does not only honor the lives lost, but it shows that we as a nation, can stand strong and overcome. It shows that we cannot be weakened, but only made stronger. Those two glorious towers would show that the memories of those lost stand tall in our hearts. And by rebuilding the twin towers, it shows that we will never forget.
By not erecting new Twin Towers, it says to the world that we have forgotten what and, most importantly, those we have lost on September 11th, 2001. Anything less than what we once had is unacceptable.
To this day, I deeply regret never visiting the original WTC Towers.
I worked downtown for many years, loved having lunch in the plaza near the Towers. In 1993 I went through the PATH station a few hours before it was bombed, and realize that the toll could have been much worse that day. A week after 9/11, I went back to the site, and like everyone else the absence of the Towers was overwhelming. I knew someone who was killed that terrible day. We can’t bring back those who were lost, but we can and should rebuild the Twin Towers.
Not only should we rebuild the twin towers but the top two floors should be a Military base and lets put some battelship guns facing out in each direction…Show POWER to the rest of the world…
Rebuild the Twin Towers *exactly* as they were. They were an iconic part of the NY Skyline and since 9/11 have been immortalized as the most visible symbol of our strength, resilience, and determination overcome everything out adversaries would throw against us. That was how the NY Skyline was, and that is how the NY Skyline should be again.
Rebuilding larger twin towers should be the only option. I wholeheartedly agreed with this idea years ago when Donald Trump advocated it. There are just so many reasons and all have been expressed by many. Just please do it!
Why isn’t this done yet? NYC just doesn’t look or feel right without the towers. I don’t want any “Freedom Towers” or any such nonsense either, just rebuild the towers exactly the way they were, straight from the original blueprints.
This could possibly be the most patriotic thing for anyone who is an American during this time in history. To rebuild what our enemies think they have taken from us. No other buildings will look the way the Twin Towers did on the Manhattan skyline. The American people can once again have a majestic and beautiful site to see, and the deepest sense of patriotism while gazing upon the Twin Towers II.
I just finished reading the Wikipedia article about what building has been chosen for the main WTC building. I said to myself, “WHAT!?” It just isn’t right to not rebuild the Twin Towers. I remember seeing the Towers from my window all the way in Woodbridge, NJ (about 2 driving hours from NYC) and think, “wow I’m so close to NYC, cool!” It was my beacon, telling me where I was, almost like a compass. It would be a shame to never see that beacon again.
Rebuild the symbol of the American people. The twin towers represented truth, courage and the spirit of America. Build them to represent America again.
Listen to the voice of the people.
Rebuilding the twin towers will help heal the wounds of 9/11.
It’s our country. 9/11 broke our hearts. If we rebuild, we will have a strong economy, our spirit and THE TWIN TOWERS.
As much as i loved the Twin Towers, the new building does not express any feeling of freedom or blend with the New York skyline, BRING THE TWIN TOWERS BACK!!!
I think we should rebuild the amazing towers. In 2001 they were beautiful and had no good reason at all to be taken down by those stupid terrorists. I hate America is not a ligit reason for an attack. I really would like new twin towers to give us back the skyline we all love.
I think that if we were to recreate these towers, it would represent this nation’s ability to emerge from our darkest times. It is our willpower that makes these united states proud. September 11th was one of our darkest days, but we stood strong. Hopefully one day the Twin Towers will also once again stand strong.
we need our towers back this will show the world we can make it thru anyhting life can throw at us if we let them build the freedom tower it dont show the world nothing at all we need the towers back built bigger an better then before govt do the right thing an help heal those who were lost!!!!!!!!
It about time we take a stand as Americans. The Twin Towers were a symbol of Freedom through out the world. We are tought from childhood the when you get knocked down dust yourself off and get back up. Its the American way. This is why The Towers have to go back up just like a pheonix rising from the ashes. What was that famous movie that said “We’re Back” oh thats right Poltergeist.
Semper Fi
I want the Towers to be built all over again. I think they should be Taller and Bigger than before. I would even Volunteer myself for free to help build them again. I just want to see them on the skyline again.
Landmarks should never be replaced like they never existed. Just like when the White House was burned in the War of 1812, it was rebuilt, not torn down. What we should do is begin a protest at Ground Zero. That would be showing the officals that we want new twin towers, we spent too long telling. With the protest, this issue should get more publicity, and hopefully with the public having more knowledge, we could have more supporters than we ever dreamed of. We will succeed, and rebuild The WTC.
REBUILD THE WTC BIGGER AND BETTER THAN BEFORE! I”D WORK THERE ANY DAY! AMERICA NEEDS TO SHOW ITS ENEMY THAT WE ARE TRIUMPHANT AND SHALL RESTORE OUR NYC SKYLINE!
There is a need for justice, peace, and TRUE hope. We have not seen that. We are still broken..plagued with health problems, mental health problems, and feelings of fright as well as insecurity. What have we done? That is a question to continue to ask ourselves. One way to heal us is to rebuild the towers as they were to express our unity and to demonstrate to the world we are not a different people.
I would really like America’s, and most importantly, OUR Twin Towers rebuilt. They are the true symbols of freedom here in America, both for business as well as fun and excitement around lower Manhattan. They would put the happiness and beauty back into the heart of New York, and the rest of the world as well. We NEED these towers. Everyone loves them, and we all know that it is not the same without them. I am a big Twin Towers person, probably the biggest Twin Towers person there ever was. And remember one thing people, they are OURS, so let’s do it. Let’s get them back !!!
I remember looking at the twin towers when i was a kid, and gazing in awe at what an amazing country we were, and how we could build the greatest buildings that I’ve ever seen. I was in first grade when 9/11 happened. My most vivid memory was walking out of my front door on September 12, and being hit in the face with a cloud of ash. I asked my dad if they were going to rebuild the twin towers, and he said “I hope they will. And if they do, you can take your kids there, because I was never able to take you there.” He had told me that he was going to take me soon. Long live the twin towers.
We need the Twin Towers back! They made the city and were iconic around the world. Countless times I have dreamed of going there, or even working there. Watching them collapse was heartbreaking to the core and to see this eye aching replacement is beyond sickening! New York City is not New York City without the Twin Towers there. I know we should and will never forget the tragedy of 9/11, but putting that “freedom” tower there as a replacement is a constant reminder of the helplessness that we felt on that day. Bringing the towers back will not be a “business as usual” symbol. It is a symbol of us getting through this hard time triumphantly. It is a way of healing.
I strongly believe that rebuilding the twin towers is the best solution. Terrorism is supposed to instill fear/terror to the citizens, creating distrust in their country. And it’s done by disrupting our everyday lives. Building anything else sends a message saying “You won, terrorists! We’re scared & incompetent, so we’re trying to cover it up with a fancy memorial.” Rebuilding the towers would say “Look, nothing changed. We’re a strong country & continuing to live our lives. You terrorists aren’t gonna get the satisfaction of making us live in fear”. I came here because of Penn & Teller’s BS show.
If any public officials do read these comments, I urge you to course correct and go with the plan offered by the Twin Towers Alliance. I grew up in New York till high school. The symbolism is all wrong concerning the current design. The memorial is depressing and the lone tower resembles a cemetery structure. The twin towers spoke so many important things. It spoke of trade between different people and countries (two side by side). It spoke of strength and boldness. Give us them back!
Never give up!
We want our Towers back – bigger and more mighty than ever!
As my brother Ray has immortalized in song:
‘We All Stand Tall’. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3XEKpunhRA
I just have too many memories of always seeing the towers. I miss them dearly! My husband and I remember being in the windows of the world and always wanted to go back, but never got the chance.
I love the twin towers and wish they were still there. I was born in 98 and was only 3 during 9/11, i lived in NY for 7 years. I wish the towers were still there so i would get a chance to see how amazing they are. I always feel sad when i think about how NYC won’t rebuild them. On 9/11 my dad arrived at his dealership in queens and noticed everyone was outside. He asked them what was going on and they said the WTC was hit by an airplane, my dad and family loved the WTC, and when he saw them collapse, he was in shock. And when I was in school today, we were watching a video about 9/11 and I almost cried. I love the WTC and i want it back. I don’t want the freedom tower, i want the NYC skyline, i want the twin towers.
Even though my home now is NJ, I feel like I grew up in NYC because my grandparents lived on Lower East Side, and we would go there once a week. The Twin Towers are the skyline of NYC — bring them back!!! Everyone wants them back — I can’t believe the NYC government didn’t give NYC what they want…and need. There’s still hope, so let’s believe!!! God bless all of our brothers and sisters who have died on 9-11-2001, and their families and friends. We will NEVER forget you!!! Thank you to all those who volunteered for and defended our great nation!!! God bless America and God bless NYC!!!
PLEASE REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS TO HOW THEY WERE BEFORE TO SHOW AMERICA’S DEFIANCE TO TERRORISM AND RESILIENCY AS A NATION AFTER ALL WE ARE “ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!!!!!”
I never had a chance to visit the towers despite living in new york I might have been very young at the time but the attack on 9/11 left me scared and empty and I strongly believe that rebuilding them as they were would bring an overwhelming relief and healing to everyone left shattered after that day.
Born and raised in Orange, N.J. I’ve been to New York City countless times. And the only landmark in New York that brought attention towards my eyes is the good old Twin Towers! Like some or many people who haven’t visited these great structures, I am one of them! I’ve only seen them at a far distance and have been up close to them, but never got to be in them to admire their great beauty of interior design! It saddens and dissappoints me that The Port Authority, The Governor and Mayor of New York ignored and never took into consideration that many of us wanted the Twin Towers rebuilt! If this Petition works in getting what we all wanted, that should’ve been done the last 10 years! Then I would be very happy and very pleased man!
Down with the “George Pataki” Tower, although it is almost done. He is the prick that put this hunk of junk here in the first place with this BS design contest, which the result was also BS. He picked the planner as the planner was a friend with Pataki’s friend. Corruption written all over. Now we are being asked to fund this joke. Ridiculous. Cap this joke building already and build new Twins already.
As much as I loved the original Twin Towers and despise the current “rebuilding” plan, there’s not much we can do at this point. Towers 1 & 4 are on their way to completion with 2 & 3 slowly following. Even if we were somehow able to stop the current plan, which is highly unlikely, there would be no place to build new twins because the layout doesn’t fit it considering the memorial is finished. We would then have to demolish the site and start from scratch, taking another 10+ years to build. The Twin Towers were icons and symbols of New York City and I know I will miss them terribly. It’s always great to be optimistic but sometimes we have to be realistic and accept the fact that we can’t always change everything. It’s sad, but true.
TTA Note: This is a petition, not a bulletin board, for those who agree with the petition’s purpose. But we will not remove the signature or comment since he loved the Twin Towers and despises the current plan. The fact that he has been misinformed makes him one of millions who are drawing faulty conclusions about what is and isn’t feasible and would love to be proved wrong. Anyone who spends time on this site should be able to see that we are not fools and only a fool would continue, if the scenario he presents above were true. It is not. That will become explicitly clear.
It would be really nice to rebuild the towers, if only to show America’s resilience. I think that the new World Trade Center 1 (“Freedom Tower”) is a beautiful building in its own right and we should be proud of the work that construction crews are doing on it now. It is certainly a proud achievement. But rebuilding the towers would send a message to the world that America is resilient and will not back down when others try to push it down. They say you “can’t go home again” and no one should feel we are bringing back the Towers. We can no more do that than to bring back the nearly three thousand innocent souls who perished that tragic day. But what we can, and I believe must, do is to show to the world that we are intrepid people.
TTA Note: We make it clear that we are not advocating for 40-year-old towers, but for a 236-year-old system of self-government. More important than showing the world that we are an intrepid people is showing ourselves that we honor our country’s values. The problem with the “Freedom Tower” is that it is an affront to the democratic process. It was conceived and hatched with no regard for the will of the people and is only visible because for ten years, every step of the way, the public has been lied to. And construction workers were lied to. Buildings are built every day. Building a building that represents the polar opposite of what it claims to stand for is not noble — it is a terrible disservice — not on the part of idealistic and dedicated workers, but on the part of the agency and officials who subverted the recovery most of the country wanted and deserved — and was paying for. What good is it to be intrepid if we are deluded?
TTA Note: The following comment is similar to what we have been asked so often by idealistic, young people. We may never understand what motivated a few officials and civic leaders to sell our country short with a recovery that doesn’t measure up in any way to what we lost — when restoring the cherished skyline, in fact instead of fiction, would have inspired the world. Now, after spending seven years working to get to the bottom of it, we don’t know “why” — but what we know for sure is “who”, “what”, “how”, and “why not”. It is a convincing case of wrongdoing that will be presented on the site asap.
I was not old enough to see the towers, they were destroyed when i was in kindergarden. I always wondered what happened to the two huge towers in lower manhattan. Since then i have always seen pictures and videos of what it used to be like in NYC. There was this undeniable vibe to NYC that i could not get over. From what ive seen and heard, manhattan was a different world before 9/11. It’s hard to describe and this may sound crazy but it was like new york was like a magical place to be, and it represented what america’s true motives represented. From a far view the towers looked like the center of the world as they touched the skyline of manhattan. I would do everything in my power to get mayor bloomberg to rebuild them, but honestly i dont know what as citizens what we are supposed to do to help the campaign and rebuild. I would do everything in my power to have those towers rebuilt, but the memorial has already been placed and they are already creating the new world trade center along with the museum. I do not like the freedom tower at all. I think it insults the people of new york and lower manhattan and what the world used to look up to. Instead of the real world trade center, which new yorkers and nj citizens want, they built some “modern” crap in my opinion. I still dont understand why mayor bloomberg wanted to not rebuild the towers. From what i’ve seen 9/11 families would like to see them in the skyline again. Help me understand.
The Twin Towers were attacked because they symbolized the American way of life. They were the targets and not rebuilding them will leave future generations cheated and give the terrorists the last laugh. The current plan to “rebuild” the WTC accommodates the terrorists plan, and is not very popular among the people at all. I say if we are paying for this site in toll hikes we should have a say! And I think very clearly the Twin Towers would rise again. My family and I were greatly affected by 9/11, and living just minutes away from the city made it even more personal, it was our home. So please Rebuild The Twin Towers!
Just bring the towers back up. Make the New York skyline as it should be. Make Osama Bin Laden roll and cry some more as he burns in hell. If you’re a conspiracy theorist, then just sign petition to show whoever you think caused it to be sad or mad that the American people didn’t throw in the towel. We’ll let you believe what you want to believe. I can’t blame you. America likes things bigger and better. So let’s make the twin towers bigger, better, and safer to put the icing on the cake to show we just don’t give up easily.
I grew up in upstate New York and visited those glorious towers while in high school. I remember we went back a second time on our trip because we wanted to go up to the outside viewing deck and the weather had prevented it the day before. So we saw not only the inside observation floor but the outside viewing deck also…a vivid and fond memory from my childhood. I have always wanted to go back and visit those twins and take those tours again as an adult but sadly will never get that chance now. I agree that we should build those towers back again. The Freedom Tower is a nice tribute to America’s freedom, but it just doesn’t hold a candle to those beautiful and majestic twin towers. I believe we should rebuild them again!
Rebuild , Rebuild , Rebuild. The people of this great nation deserve just that. On 9/11 terrorists attempted to destroy America and by rebuilding these once great towers that stood tall in the sky , Would say to the terrorists , No matter what you attempted to do or tried to accomplish you could never and will never destroy the spirit of us Americans.
Please rebuild the Towers to be a true memorial to the ones who lost their lives and to the families that lost their loved ones. Rebuild these Towers for the children , Children that were innocent babies at the time of the tragedy. Give them the experience that we had to enjoy the two beautiful monuments to American architectural ability and beauty.
It’s clear that people want to see the twin towers built again. In fact, it was clear 11 years ago. Just because the Governor has power over the city doesn’t mean he can take it upon himself to choose which towers to build due to his own preferences. The vote goes to the people of NYC along with the rest of America. This city is filled with useless and weak minded people that work for the government and it needs to change. The thought of the Freedom Tower AND Twin Towers seem like a great idea. Fix the foundation of where the towers stood and put them back, we need to show all remaining terrorists that when we fall WE GET BACK UP!!! But the government is not helping us prove that AT ALL. Our country’s security is alot more superior than it was.
I think the Twin Towers II should have been built instead of one lonely, not so attractive tower. I have never been to the original Twin Towers but saw it from afar from the Statue of Liberty back in 1992 and it just looked beautiful. I couldn’t believe it. I was a kid at the time and didn’t know my way around NYC. Anyway, it’d be great to see the Twin Towers again.
Honestly, i think that its a complete disgrace to america. we should have rebuilt the Twin Towers to show those terrorists that we are a strong nation, and that we cannot be taken down. The government didnt help us in our time of need, and those terrorists destroyed our country’s greatest iconic symbol and took our loved ones away. Never forget 9/11 and long live the Twin Towers!
I can’t help but get angry every time I watch the news and reporters are drooling over the freedom tower and how our country overcame the 9/11 attacks bigger and better. How 1 skinnier tower replacing 2 majestic powerful towers is considered better is mind boggling to me. The twin towers were 2 for a reason. Now when you look at the lower manhattan skyline and see one tower it just doesn’t look right or feel right. The new NYC skyline screams where’s my twin?! I was 2 and now I’m 1. I’m incomplete! Replace tower 2 with a twin freedom tower. Give us back Twin towers and make NYC whole again.
The World has waited Far Too Long for The Twin Towers to be rebuilt! It’s still not to late to correct our Mistakes! In order to do so we must Rebuild The Twin Towers!
It’s not right that the Twin Towers were not rebuilt. I pray everyday that we build these building again. I feel we let these terrorist bad guys dictate how we live life and feel we let them defeat us. The Twin Towers were such a beautiful site and so inspiring. I was so fixated on those building since my childhood. America and the World have not been the same since they came down. If NY does not want to rebuild them then let NJ/Jersey City rebuild them. I will keep praying for them to be rebuilt. I’m sure everyone who tragically lost their life on 9/11 would want these beautiful buildings rebuilt. Can we get a real American to stand up for what’s right? Bill Gates or Donald Trump you have all that money, do something great and rebuild.
A twin freedom tower should be built. The skyline isn’t the same. Although they are building Two World Trade Center at the moment, it will not look as nice as having Freedom Twin Towers. One World Trade Center just stands all alone and by Itself. It would look much better with a twin. It should have what the South Tower had, no antenna and an outdoor observation deck while One World Trade Center has the antenna. Do the right thing!
I hope this is on-topic. I wish the Freedom Tower had NEVER been built and that the Twin Towers were rebuilt EXACTLY as they were before September 11, 2001.
I had seen them in the 1980s when I used to occasionally visit NYC with my family when I was young. But, I never appreciated them back then and I regret that. That’s why I wish the original Twin Towers were rebuilt just the way they were. Nothing can ever replace the Twin Towers. They gave NYC an awesome skyline before 9/11/2001.
The vision for the twin towers, and their construction was during a time in American history when our nation was an economic superpower, our prosperity was growing, and our future seemed bright, and towering. To rebuild the twin towers for the sake of recapturing our nation’s past before 9/11 would be a travesty. To rebuild the twin towers while our nation is economically depressed makes no sense. To rebuild the twin towers where the originals once stood would raise much controversy. If our nation is ever prosperous again, and debt free, we must not dwell over fountains of loss but look up to heaven as we construct two towering monuments that pay homage to the twin towers, and cement our memory of the victims of 9/11. This is why we mus
TTA Note: When this comment — much of which is opinion stated as fact — was cut off because it exceeded the default character limit, it was about to tell us why we “must” do something — apparently, one day rebuild. But there was only one reason that always dictated rebuilding — one that removed it from the realm of opinion and turned the politicians into actual villains: Because that was what the majority of the people wanted. And that is the “why” that is supposed to inform all that we do in this country.
The Twin towers should be rebuilt. What is there now is nice and all, but the twins need to rise again! Forget towers 2 and 3, build the Twins again!!!
The Twin towers were the greastest buildings ever, and what is there now, doesn’t fill the whole in the skyline that the twin towers made
Rebuild the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Even though it has been 14 years since 9/11 we still are scarred by that event. Not only were the Twin Towers a place a business they were a symbol of America’s prosperity and showed the world who we are as a country. We can’t replace that with a glass tower, that shows the terrorist organizations that they won by destroying America’s beloved towers. Be rebuilding it would be the most genuine form of healing of the scar left by the terrorists on Sept. 11th, 2001. We must rebuild!
It’s really a disgrace that some of these elected officials abuse their power and ignore the popular decision to rebuild the twin towers as they WERE before, and go on design this piece of crap. Larry Silverstein for example, in the wake of 9/11, promised to “rebuild the twin towers as they were” this isn’t what the looked like at all!
I was only about 2 on 9/11. My father worked in 4 WTC. He is still alive to the day but for me this gave me the absence of experiencing and seeing these towers for myself. It’s a real shame we are seeing the freedom tower being replaced for this. As if these buildings never existed… REBUILD.
I grew up in NJ and I always saw the Twin Towers whenever we went to the city. To me, they symbolized NYC. I dare say that they WERE NYC for many people, myself included. The skyline just looks wrong without the Twin Towers back where they belong.
We should have rebuilt the towers. Not only would that make the skyline look right; not only would that be a fitting memorial to those who died there; it would be a nice, heartfelt “F You!” to those who brought them down! Give those bastards the finger times two!
My late mother thought that they should have been rebuilt, as do I. Make NY right again; rebuild the Twin Towers!
As a native New Yorker, looking at the NYC skyline and not seeing twin towers is a reminder of what happened on 9/11, and a constant reminder of terrorism. They do not need to be built as they once were, but twin towers should be there, in the form of 2 Freedom Towers or whatever seems suitable. Rebuilding such historical buildings is a sign of strength and is a great head start in the right direction of peace and unity.
I worked on Greenwich Street just down two blocks from the twin towers. Everyday I would just go to my spot and sit and admire the twin tower marvels. The twin towers should be rebuilt. I would have no problem at all working in newly built twin towers. It is almost an impossibility that any jetliners would ever be hijacked again. First, the passengers on the plane would not let it happen. Second, the cockpit doors are now enforced to withstand mega forces. I despise that new freedom tower. It is ugly and an insult to all. I truly hope new twin towers are built in my lifetime.
Man it’s sad to know that a black man (not being racist or pulling the race card here) had tried to rebuild these 2 beautiful buildings and make the area look even better. But none of us peacefully protested at the site to rebuild the twin towers. They were both amazing and still are. Please rebuild both of these towers one day in Manhattan. If we can’t, what about the waterfront of Brooklyn or Queens? But as long as it’s in Manhattan or right close to it would be nice… I hope they rebuild them one day soon before it’s too late (they rebuild WTC 2).
Rebuilding the twin towers would not only be symbolic of this nation’s resiliency but it will give the opportunity for new generations to come to experience how magnificent they were. I don’t have deep connections to many places but I still do with the twin towers even though they’re no longer here. It was one of few things that made me proud to be a New Yorker actually. I miss them and I’m glad that I’m not alone.
Although I think that the Freedom Tower is pretty Cool, I Want the Twin Towers back! They are what makes New York’s Skyline complete, I look at the Skyline and wish I could’ve been alive to see the Twin Towers, but no… I didn’t ever get to see them in person… But I signed this petition so I can hope that I can still see them one day…
The twin towers are the symbol of NYC. I never got the chance to see the towers myself but I would like to see them rebuilt and standing tall once again. Like Donald Trump once said “If we don’t rebuild the twin towers, the terrorists win” The towers need to come back and stronger than ever!
I believe the towers should be rebuilt because of the history and symbolism they held for new york and the country as a whole. The timing is right, its been over 20 years and I don’t believe the buildings will trigger trauma responses from victims (only if they are NOT rebuilt on the original site). And while I wish they could’ve been rebuilt on the original site, it wouldn’t be feasible considering most of the new complex is finished. As long as the towers are in new york city, I’m fine with whatever spot they’d be rebuilt. I was born in 2000 my mom worked in the financial district until 2002 so I grew seeing ground zero and being so intrigued by the missing towers. I know I’m not the only one with this relationship the towers, and new yorkers deserve a chance to see them again in person.

Anything short of rebuilding is honoring the terrrorists!
The Twin Towers need to stand tall in New York again.
rebuild taller & stronger than before…what a memorial that would be!
New York, the US, and the World needs to have the Towers rebuilt.
The best thing to do would be to rebuild the twin towers.
From Long Island. Lets show what it is to truly be american. Lets not show that we will live in fear. Lets Rebuild them for our children and theirs!
THE ISLAND WILL REMAIN UNBALANCED AND THE SHADOW OF THE TOWERS A GAPING WOUND UNTIL WE SUMMON THE COURAGE TO REBUILD.
The Freedom Tower would never be able to restore what was lost that tragic day. Rebuilding the towers is the only answer.
Build them tall so we may once again occupy the sky.
THE TOWERS NEED TO BE REBUILD,FOR THE HEALING PROCESS TO BE COMPLETE & TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THOSE PEOPLE THAT BOUGHT THE TOWERS DOWN,THAT WE WILL ALWAYS RISE UP ,FROM THE ASHES.
This petition says it all.
Rebuild the towers, anything else is just a trophy for the terrorists! God bless the U.S.A.
It would mean so much to the people of New York to see the Twin Towers rise again.
Gotta Love NYC
Put em back up, now!!!
Was the Pentagon rebuilt? Why is there even a debate? Tne WTC should be rebuilt one story taller than before.
Bravo! This is what I have wanted to see ever since 9/12.
I agree with rebuilding the Twin Towers wholeheartedly. It’s the only solution for lower Manhattan that makes any sense.
The twin towers not only conferred a bold and unique topography to the New York skyline, they also provided comforting reassurance of ones proximity to the greatest city on earth to the 5 boroughs and as far away as Westchester and Monmouth counties.
Not rebuilding them shows weakness. Changing the design shows weakness. They should symbolize strength without fear.
It’s the only right thing to do.
Besides an appropriate memorial, nothing other than the Twin Towers belong at that site. Period.
The greatest symbol of our greatest city has been destroyed. We must rebuild it! Terrorism is cowardice! Since when does America let cowards prevail?
We should rebuild the Twin Towers, just as they were, but better, stronger and, just to poke it in the eye of those who brought the first ones down, a little bit taller.
I come to NY all the time. My children live there. It would show our strength to rebuild and show no fear. They cannot get the better of us.
There is no other way to say to the terrorist that there is no way you will beat us, then to rebuild!!
I am stunned that our politicians have not demanded the Twin Towers be rebuilt. The citizens will need to take over this issue. What better way of showing the terrorists they will not change our way of life?
Shall we have a NY skyline or Osama’s skyline? Without the towers, they win.
There is a hole in my sky–please repair it…not re-design it!
Rebuild the skyline and allow the strength of all those in the US to be broadcasted throughout New YORK.
DEFINITELY REBUILD THE WORLD TRADE CENTER ESPECIALLY THE TWIN TOWERS!!!!!!!!!!
THIS MUST BE DONE!!!!!!!!! FOR NEW YORK, FOR THE USA, FOR MAN KIND, for thoes that where murdered!!!!!!! on 911…!
I hope you succeed!
Rebuild the towers… Anything less would be cowardice and serve as a symbol of shame!
The greatest memorial and the greatest show of the American spirit would be to construct the twin towers back to look just like the original symbol of this great city and country.
Put everything back the way it was.
the towers ought to be rebuilt
Rebuild, restore the “World”.
Rebuild the towers as they were but make them one story taller.
As a civil engineer, I believe that we must be bold and rebuild NYC to its former grandeur.
Let the message go forth from this
mornings first light,we love our
country and for it’s Towers we’ll
fight!
God Bless America!
Please don’t let terrorists decide our skyline for us!
Anytime I would get on the NJ Turnpike, or go over the Raritan bridge, I would always strain to find the towers on the horizon. My loss was small compared to others, Astrid Sohan the girl that gave me my first kiss.
Rebuild our towers!
From day 1 I knew the best response would be to rebuild the towers, so that it would be clear that the terrorists could not change us.
This is the right thing to do.
With all respect to the people who have lost someone. The politians are only using greed and their own agenda’s rebuilding ground zero. The towers going up are the only way to stand up to these terrorists.
The site is a vacant lot without the towers! No other structure is suitable or acceptable
I think we as a nation have waited long enough for restoration not only of the towers, but of hope, pride and promise of a new beginning and new light!
i think they should either rebuild, or make a beautiful park.
Rebuilding is the only answer
Anything less than a complete rebuild of what was once there is an insult to Americans, and a sign of fear to the terrorist, LETS REBUILD BIGGER AND BETTER THAN BEFORE!!!!
The answer is simple…REBUILD!!!
The longer that they do not exist, the longer we’ve shown defeat!
Let’s stand up like Americans and get the job done.
Git-r-done and then push moosowee, yusef, etc off the top at the topping off ceremony.Pass the popcorn!
Please have the courage to bring the towers back. They will be so good for the economics of New York, and the heart of America.
Let’s stop appeasing the terrorists! They wanted the towers destroyed, let us now undo their hideous work!
I already signed my name, but I need to make a comment…
It appears that the twin towers are not going to be rebuilt.
For unknown reasons, our politicians want to build that ugly Freedom Tower instead.
What can we do about this?
I still feel the general public has been too silent too long.

New York is defined by courage and the ability to rise above adversity. Let’s show the world we haven’t strayed from that ideal.
Please put the Towers back up.
Anything else is a sign of surrender!
Yes I always said build them again. It would be a drastic mistake to build a half empty tower. We need to see the Twin Towers
Rebuilding is the way to go!!!
That hideous freedom tower is an expression of cowardice. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!
rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, taller and stronger!!!
BRING BACK THE TWIN TOWERS!!!
Please!!!!!!!!!!!
Anything built at Ground Zero, other than the original Twin Towers, is an admission of defeat.
We are better than that. We are Americans. And Americans want the Twin Towers built!
Rebuild the Towers!
Restore the Skyline!!
Recover Completely!!!
If we do not Build eather the same but taller we have been defeated. We are a Strong Nation, We need to build the tallest building in the world, cause WE ARE NUMBER ONE.
REBUILD
Rebuild
Don’t let ground zero be an open pit forever.
Don’t let the terrorists win. Let’s get on with it aleady !
We can rebuild the twin towers !
Rebuild the towers in the memory of all those who have fallen. Lets show the rest of the world that we will overcome the tragedy of 9/11!
I would like to see the twin towers rebuilt – not this Freedom Tower hooey. Since I moved to the East and all the time I worked downtown, they were a symbol of NY to me. To replace them with some fancy pants design would be a disappointment.
Let’s make the skyline whole again. To do anything less would be a victory to those that wish to intimidate us.
We should not back down to terrorists Rebuild the towers.
five years later……..let’s get some work done.
If the terrorists only got one tower, you can believe we would already see the second one rebuilt. Do not let the terrorsists win!
Please rebuild!! The Twin Towers is a representation of what New York is…without them, New York is incomplete!!
Git’ur done!!!!!
I have long felt that the Twin Towers should be rebuilt as was. The floors that the planes hit should be made into memorial and museum space.
We would love to have the Twin Towers back. The horizen is not the same.
They could dedicate one entire floor to the victims of 9/11 in tribute.
Rebuild the towers at least one story higher!
IT’S TIME!!!
Please do this. It’s the right thing to do…
we need to rebuild ,the way it was so we’ll never ever forget.
The best memorial is to rebuild the buildings … to add a memorial room (like a chapel in a hospital)would be a nice addition, but the buildings should be rebuilt.
They rebuilt the Benedictine Abbey of Monte Cassino under a directive which stated:
“as it was — where it was”
and it stands today as a monument to the triumph of good over evil.
I would love to see the towers rebuilt but please do not inundate me with lots of e-mails.
Thanks, Dawn
thank you
The twin towers were targeted by our enemies because they represented all that is great about America: free enterprise, individual rights and above all, the pursuit of happiness here on earth. Our enemies, the islamic militants, beleive in death worship and hatred of all that is held sacred by our society.
We need to rebuild the twin towers as soon as possible, but even taller than before. We need to show our enemies and more importantly to ourselves, that we are winning and we will beat them!
Please rebuild the towers
To Whom it may concern,
Similiar to so many other residents of New York, I watched The Twin Towers built originally and they meant so much to The Nation, including The World upon completion. The destuction of The Twin Towers has removed a vital piece of Society! The Twin Towers represented Man’s ability to live together in harmony! Unfortunately The Towers no longer exist. However, if they were replaced with the same structures or Taller that would honor All Who were Lost on 9-11!
I worked at the trade center when it first opened many years ago, it will always be the building that I look to see there.
My hometowns skyline is not the same without the twins. rebuilding as they were says to the filth that helped destroy them
“we will not be terrorized.”
HEY YO!
TIME TO WAKE UP!
Rebuild…. it’s as simple as that.
God bless…
Anything short of total restoration is an abomination.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, is acceptable – other than total and complete restoration of The Twin Towers.
Give the people what we want, and what we want is simple – we want the towers back !
Please rebuild! Show them that terrorists do not shape our country and skylines. We do!
Rebuild!
Build ’em bigger, better and taller.
RWH,
Albany
Yes rebuild the towers
I hope New Yorker Donald Trump will re-build us our towers and one story higher. Please do not allow the hard left PC crowd to manifest their planned contempt for all of the people who died on that day and afterwards, or for those who are even now becoming ill from that disaster. The current plans are clearly heavily weighted in favor of their anti-American propaganda.
Thank You for the opportunity to make our opinions and wishes known.
LET’S GET GOING!!!!!!
Rebiuld ‘The Twins”
If we do not rebuild the twin towers, the terorist have got what they wanted! New York City skyline must return.
Anything other than rebuilt towers would only serve as a monument to terrorism.
I miss the view of the Twins travelling down Route 46 East going through Hasbrouck Heights.. it is like a gaping hole. Let’s rebuild!
This seems like a no-brainer: Rebuild. What is wrong with that?
Replace what was destroyed to show the world we will never be defeated by evil.
To attempt to build anything less than the Twin Towers is to admit defeat.
All I want is our Towers back.
Build it the way they were.. taller and stronger.. just like our hearts!!!!
Please rebuild as per original twin towers. Do not change design.
Make them ten stories taller, facing Mecca
I would like to see the same proud towers rebuilt, along with a proud memorial.
Thank you!
Sue
We need to rebuild the towers only each tower should be 1 floor higher, and those floors should be the memorial along with a monument next to the new towers.
I want the towers back!
I always said we should rebuilt the same Twin Towers –
ONE STORY HIGHER THAN BEFORE 9/11.
I have a picture of myself on the Staten Island ferry with the Twin Towers in the background. And this was before Battery Park City was built!
rebuild the twin towers
I grew up going to my backyard, looking up and seeing the towers, that’s how close I was to them.
I was in training (military in Mississippi) on 9/11 – it took me 3days to get back to the tri-state area, my unit provided support for the rescuers @ Ground Hero.
108th Air Refueling Wing, NJ Air National Guard
“They” knocked them down and we are obligated to rebuild bigger and stronger Towers! They were a symbol and thus should remain so. A symbol that we can and will rebuild stronger and better each time!
Dump the freedom center! Rebuild the towers one story higher.
anything less than what was there before is an admission of fear and defeat.in fact, both buildings should be at least one floor higher.have a beautiful museum on the ground floor dedicated to preserving the artifacts and explaining exactly what happened on 9/11.
It takes true genius to make what is difficult seem simple. Let’s do it!
I wish to add, what is surely implied, the inability to fill the tenant space. As per the usual American businessman desire to see immediate profit they feel that a full size twin tower will not produce a rent payer/profit ratio quickly. I want to remind that the original towers took over 10 years to rent out.
LOOKS ALOT BETTER THAN ANY OTHER DESIGN I’VE SEEN. BUILD IT BETTER, AND HIGHER. USE THE SIDES FOR THE BIGGEST MARQUIS AND WIRELESS TELEPHONE ANTENNAS
God Bless America and Pray for those lost to us. Preserve the memory by rebuilding the towers – our symbolic tribute to those who perished.
Build em back, taller and stronger!
Richard Aloia
The solution is so simple. You replace what was lost, and make it better.
PLEASE REBUILD! I think about this every day of my life!
The twin towers need no improvement;just our vigilance!
I live 70+ miles away from Ground Zero, but work less than a block away. It is depressing to not see the 2 proud towers standing there anymore. My Grandfather worked on the towers at some point during construction. The Twin Towers always made me feel good every time I saw them from any angle and any distance.
I want to see them again.
I strongly agree that the towers should be rebuilt as tall or taller than they were before.
I want the twin towers back- then new york city will be whole again. They should be rebuilt to defy the terrorists.
Please rebuild the Twin Towers as a significant act that our world will not succumb to cowardly acts of terrorism.
the original twin tower buildings were a part of our majestic new york city skyline.they are sorely missed along with all of the heros that died there, too.the world trade center brought all races, colors and creeds together into a community-like working environment.the twin towers represented strength for new york city.build them back with a 100% safer infrastructure!God bless.
God Bless America…..
I believe that by not rebuilding the Twin Towers we will make a very bad mistake. We will be saying that the terrorists have won we rebuilt the Pentagon. After the White House was burned down after the 1812 war it was rebuilt. Why not the Twin Towers?
It is the right of every New Yorker and American, to have a day in what is built at ground zero.
Please. They should be rebuilt, just as they were.
I think we should rebuild the towers and add a floor. Lets show the terrorists that America’s spirit was not diminished. Now that were up to speed with armed pilots and better security, there’s no fear of a future incident.
It’s the only right thing to do. It’s sickening to go into NYC and not see the towers. Show our strength again.
The same as the originals, only TALLER!
rebuild the same…only 1 floor taller. AND STRONGER
Rebuild the twin towners now!
Rebuild the towers exactly as they were except add one more story to each.
Please rebuild the towers. They were an American icon. When they were lost I felt as if a part of me was lost as well. The new design just does not cut it. Only by replacing the towers will we be even more united against the enemy again. Nothing can look as beautiful as the Twin Towers.
REBUILD THE TOWERS!
Yes, bring back the twin towers!!
Thank you.
Billy
Fill that hole in the sky please.
I Love New York!
The city is not the same without the towers. They are New York.
The only lasting memorial to the victims of 9/11 – and to restore a symbol of who we are as a free nation – would be to rebuild the twin towers even stronger than they were before.
9/11 Never forget!
WE ALREADY HAD NUMBERS 1-7 WTC. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE RE-BUILDING AND THE MEMORIAL CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED SIMULTANEOUSLY — JUST CALL THE NEW TOWERS 9 – 11 WTC.
buil 5 towers with the middle one the tallest
Just put them back. It’s the right thing to do.
Rebuilding as it was and maybe even a bit taller is the only response that is acceptable to show the world that the United States does not cower to terrorism.
Shame! why did we give in to the terrorists?
Why give in to terrorists?
I grew up on Long Island. I remember being at relatives in Astoria, & if the night’s lighting was right you could see the tops of the Towers. I remember standing up against the side of the Tower’s unique architecture and looking straight up in amazement at such a feat of engineering & construction. I remember taking my wife to the the top of the Tower. And I remember watching in horror & disbelief when the Towers came crashing down, my heart burst open that day, life has never been the same.
This should have been the first plan not the last option. Build the towers.
I don’t know of a better way to say we are just as strong as ever and we will not be intimidated by terrorists. I think we should even add a story.
Choosing not to rebuild is choosing to be controlled by terrorists.
The Twin Towers are what NYC chose to have prior to 9/11. We should restore our city and our country to show we have not be defeated and to honor our lost Americans and their families.
Restoring the twin towers is the greatest tribute we can give to those who lost their lives.
The Towers were a symbol of the United States and they should be again.
Rebuilding those two towers will be the most inspirational thing that could ever be done. Do it and do it now!!
I watched it go down. I want to see it UP again!!
I say let’s get back to the business of keeping the pride of America, enough talk it’s time to do and do it right! Rebuild the towers!!
God Bless America!
do not allow our enmies to control or dictate to america. boldly rebuild the twin towers. any other construction would be a permanent statue and symbol of our surrender to the will of the enemy, and for them to perpetually gloat over their their act of demeaning our nation.
Rebuild the Towers.
Rebuild the twin towers better than ever!
Build ’em back! Anything else is a capitulation to the terrorists.
Exact same looking buildings only 1 foot or 1 floor taller!
Show them our strength and rebuild the beautiful towers one floor higher than before!
Rebuild those towers bigger than before.
It’s the right thing to do. Rebuild the Twin Towers!!
I would love to have the Twin Towers back. It is an important part of our history and it will help us heal.
Rebuilding the Twin Towers stronger and Taller is the way to show those horrible terrorists we stand stronger and taller.
Rebuild them to be the tallest in the world!
We all must work together to rebuild them, and they will stand for all that is good……
The towers should be returned to their origanal look with a few more stories added to them.
THERE IS NO REASON TO CHANGE THE DESIGN OF A BEAUTIFUL LAND MARK-RB
I miss them dearly.
I hope that finally we can let them know how we feel as a people and do the right thing to replace what was taken from us
I agree we should re-build the twin towers higher stronger and better, they were an icon for the whole world to see!!! RE-BUILD!!!!!!
The _only_ way to show our respect is to put the _two_ buildings back.
money and politics should not desecrate this holy, tragic, honorable, day of infamy, site. the towers should return, bigger, safer and without costs considerations. bring back the towers, dont replace it with some cheap fancy buildings.
I think the towers should be rebuilt. If they are not, that’s a sad statement about our country!
Rebuild it.
Make them stronger than ever.
You can Destroy our Buildings – But you can´t Destroy our Foundation!!!
Rebuild the Twin Towers of collapsed World Trade Center!
Faster ! Rebuilding begins :-((( Watch! :

God Bless!

TTA Note: Activity does not equal progress. There is nothing there that can’t be corrected.
I MISS THE AMAZING VIEW AND HAVE FOND MEMORIES.
It looks as if the city is trying to emulate dubai with that ridiculous design. New York wouldn’t be New York without our original towers.
JHR
The towers were an important part of the most recognized skyline in the world. They were unique and we should not accept any substitutes.
Thank you
Amy Horton
I loved those buildings and I miss seeing them. The day that site is reborn will be the happiest day of my life and thats no stretch.
every one is still in my prayers. i am so glad they made the monument.they may try to hurt us ( our country or our military) but we are still the LAND OF THE FREE.
I will not forget. I have a very long memory.
Terry L. James
Excelsior Springs, MO
Rebuilding should have been the only option for the start. . . Freedom Tower LOOKS nice, but it’s not the same, or the thing we need.
The towers should be built like before but stronger –we shall never forget
One freedom Tower will always look like half a job done – a monument to weakness, greed and political corruption and a submission to terrorism. Build two! No Brainer. Rebuild the New Skyline bigger and better than ever for the world to see and literally look up to. You could even have the upper floors atriums that becomes a monument and they are always lit 24/7/365
Just imagine in your mind…The Twin Towers rising up the Two Towers rising up in the NY skyline. The spirits of Ny’ers and Americans and citizens of the world alike watching it get bigger, better, and safer day by day. Then laughing cuz terror wont be able to stop it or bring them down cuz we will strive to protect these buildings and the people who work there!
greetings from Nutley, NJ.
It should not be too late, rebuild the Twin Towers taller and stronger as a symbol of American strength, courage and resolve.
Rebuild with 21st century upgrades. Better, Stronger, Environmentally Friendly.
Bring back those beautiful towers, bigger better and bolder than ever…
When you get knocked down you get back up. You come back bolder and stronger. Rebuild the Twin Towers! The freedom tower isn’t a symbol of america, its a symbol of weakness.
REBUILD THEM
The last time I have seen the Twin Towers was on August 25, 2001. 2 weeks before the attacks.
We need the towers back- they’re America.
The one true symbol of America’s prosperity and power is the twin towers, not the Freedom Tower, rebuild them bigger than ever!
Rebuilding the WTC would not only be a great symbol, but it’d give a lot more job opporutunities to us hard-working Americans. Do it. Do it now. Do it good.
The Freedom Tower IS Nice And All But It Doesnt Show The Real New York Which Is Why I Want My Old Towers Back!
The only way to recover is to take action! Rebuild the towers!
The twin towers should be rebuilt. We had built a landmark. And now we have to rebuild it.
Bayport, Long Island, NY
Rebuild the Twin Towers!
Just rebuild them!
we need our towers back this will show the world we can make it thru anyhting life can throw at us if we let them build the freedom tower it dont show the world nothing at all we need the towers back built bigger an better then before govt do the right thing an help heal those who were lost!!!!!!!!
the twin towers should be rebuilt
The only right thing to do is rebuild the towers.
Let’s rebuild them one floor higher!!!!!
Restore our skyline to the way it should look, with the twin towers there!
Rebuild the Twin Towers!!!
Every time I had gone to NYC the Twin Towers were my favorite buildings to look at and, to me, they made the city.
Please bring the Twin Towers back. Bring back NYC!
Bring them back!

Rebuild these Towers for America…
Restore our Twins, restore the American spirit. Please Lord, let it happen.
The skyline is not the same with out the twins back in 80s i worked in ny in and out of the wtc wish it was back
The Twin towers should be rebuilt. What is there now is nice and all, but the twins need to rise again! Forget towers 2 and 3, build the Twins again!!!
The Twin towers were the greastest buildings ever, and what is there now, doesn’t fill the whole in the skyline that the twin towers made
Re-build them!!!!

I still have hope. Please, do the right thing, whatever influential individual is listening. This is what we want. Believe us.
