I have lived about a half mile from the WTC since before 9/11. I considered the scape that included the Twin Towers my home. The rebuilding efforts are quite personal to me and I welcome the rebirth of the Twin Towers.
Rebuild the towers in all its glory. Let the towers themselves stand as the memorial to all who perished and for all who live, will they be remembered.
I am in favor of rebuilding with a memorial. Rebuild them is to rebuild our dignity and pride. It is time enough to make sense of what is right now. Nothing can replace the towers in my heart.
REBUILD THE WTC! Doesn’t have to be exactly like it was… It just needs to be an image of twin buildings so we can say that we rebuilt even better WTC and maybe even taller if at all possible.
After 22 years living at the Fulton Fish Market , 1 klik from the pit , I’ve left NYC for the West in part because of the mediocrity the nanny police city-state of NY has become , exemplified by the shattered Lebeskind design fiasco .
I’ve lived at 99 John St since 9/01/04,where my brother lived before joining the Marines. He was killed in Iraq 11/19/04. I wanted him to be able to come back to the sight of the towers being rebuilt. What a crock of $hit. Thanks Mr. Silverstein.
Whatever we re-build it must be tall.Taller then the building that is currently being presented and preferrably taller than the original WTC buildings.Build tall to stand tall!
Freedom Tower!?!
1776 feet tall!?!
Please, spare me the ‘patriotic symbolism’. I heard that nonsense two decades ago in the Eastern bloc countries. Rebuild the Towers right where they were and lets get on with life.
I always felt they should be rebuilt. Don’t know if anyone would want to work there, but I resent that they were taken from us very much. I always knew I was home when I saw them.
Do not falter in the face of terrorism, rebuilding them as they were is the biggest slap in the face to the dastardly terorrists who did it. I fully support rebuilding them the same since they are too iconic to replace in the skyline.
Rebuild the World Trade Center exaclty as they were. Say no to the freedom Tower. That is wrong. It shows that we are cowards. Don’t let them build a trophy for those terrorists. Build the Twin Towers as they were and a memorial next to it. Do the right thing. I would work there anyday if they rebuilt them because I’d feel much much safer.
If something is going to be built, build the new Twin Towers site. If the new Twin Towers site won’t be built, don’t build anything at all. Both of those decisions are better than the pointless “Freedom Tower” that has no match to New York City whatsoever.
Yes, rebuild the Twin Towers to show the world that America can and has risen from travisty. Our tomorrows are brighter, Our resolve is stronger and Our wisdom is greater!!
I moved to Battery Park City from Los Angeles after 9/11 just so that I could be a part of the rebuilding after a devastation, even if it were to buy a bottle of water from the local businesses. I stayed there for 4 years only to have nothing built, (except for WT #7, which belongs to leaseholder). I think we should build the towers back and even a third one too! Do it even better than before, the TRUE American way! Let’s see even a better skyline than before!
I once came across a picture of the twin towers in a Soviet published atlas circa 1979. Amazing, those buildings were a respected by our friends and enemies alike.
We cannot allow the terrorists to determine our skyline. We must rebuild one of the enduring symbols of America.
I really hope that the design changes, I have lived in Manhattan my entire life and miss those two glorious towers, and definitely do not want to see the “Freedom Tower” when I get up in the morning. The name I could care less about, it is just the design that really bothers me, to me it doesn’t blend in with the rich, classic history of what is the great city of New York.
What are we waiting for? Lets get these buildings back where they belong! cant wait to here more and hope to see the booklet posted up soon as well as a report to the nation!
Returning to NYC after 9/11 was … incredible. Enough to leave anyone speechless. Never before or since have I heard Manhattan silent. Rebuilding the towers is the only option that should be considered. The New York skyline will be a source of pain for anyone who was there regardless of what is built, the most important consideration is that America stand back up – tall and strong.
Not being able to look downtown and see the stable anchor of the World Trade Center Towers leaves me with a sense of loss and sadness on a daily basis.
Please. We need the twin towers back rather then the new ones in progress. I believe that only the twin towers are the right buildings for ground zero and New York. They shouldn’t be replaced I’m sure those that died in the attack feel the same way.
One of the reasons I decided to attend graduate school here and why I will stay here is because I want to see the twin towers rebuilt and I have hope that they CAN be rebuilt and that they WILL be rebuilt in my lifetime.
Norman Mailer wrote, I paraphrase here: “…there was nothing like the Manhattan skyline…with its two bucked teeth jutting out so distinctively.”
It seemed natural that the powers that be would rebuild our Twin Towers…and not erect a sterile, generic monolith sans “character”. We have been let down.
Work in Chelsea. 14th st station. not seeing the twin towers makes me sad every day. disgusting we havent rebuilt them. the freedom tower looks like garbage.

i love what you guys are doing.
as someone in the empty shadow where the towers stood, there’s nothing i’d love more than to see them return

Our city is weak and naked without the Twin Towers. No subsitute will ever serve its power and beauty.
Rebuild the towers in all its glory. Let the towers themselves stand as the memorial to all who perished and for all who live, will they be remembered.

Rebuild the Twin Towers even bigger and better than before!

Please restore the world trade center the way it was. build the Twin Towers again. We missed them.
Thank You
Rebuilding would be the one and only american way to show that our nation is not afraid…

Nothing else will do!
Almost 5 years later and nothing done? That isn’t very New York of us. In fact, it’s pathetic.
Please.. we need those towers back.. nothing built but those towers will make the downtown complete.
United we Stand!

Just rebuilt Twin Towers!

A part of NYC has been taken away, please rebulid the towers!

I support rebulding the towers: higher, wider and stronger.
Not a Freedom Tower fan. Trade 7 looks great.
YES!!! Build them again plus one more floor for defiance!
I agree. They should be exactly the same, only one floor taller–as a statement.
Build THEM! Show the world what AMERICA can do and what she stands for.

Yes. Rebuild them. Of course.
the rebirth of the twin towers would show how strong we are and make NY,NY again and i am behind the donald.
The only way to replace the emptyness the towers left.
What better signal to the world than putting the TT back where they belong, perhaps twenty feet taller.

Please Rebuild!! I wish to wake up and see those Towers outside my window again! Twin Towers II by Kenneth Gardner is the BEST!
I never thought about it, but rebuilding the twin towers as they were is THE PERFECT solution.
I agree that the replacement should include twin towers. I worked in the original WTC Tower II and loved that building.
Please rebuild our towers. Please!
What are we waiting for? Lets get these buildings back where they belong! cant wait to here more and hope to see the booklet posted up soon as well as a report to the nation!
Rebuild!!! New York will never be the same without the twin towers! We can’t let bin laden win!

Bring the towers back! The Freedom Tower project is a disaster- scrap it and do what makes sense. Twin Towers are an American Icon!!
Not being able to look downtown and see the stable anchor of the World Trade Center Towers leaves me with a sense of loss and sadness on a daily basis.
I HATE THE FREEDOM TOWER. The one thing I have to say about the WTC Site now:
I don’t want to see the hole in the ground, nor the skeleton in the sky.
Please. We need the twin towers back rather then the new ones in progress. I believe that only the twin towers are the right buildings for ground zero and New York. They shouldn’t be replaced I’m sure those that died in the attack feel the same way.
We need the Twin Towers back! Rebuild a symbol!
