The World Trade Center is like no other set of buildings in history. And with their terroristic and murderous destruction comes an opportunity to slay the demons over the heads of freedom loving people the world over. Raise them up higher, stronger and new but like their predecessors.
I am not one to get caught up in “causes” but having seen the accelerating political infighting surrounding the ground zero project and a memorial price tag that has already reached the $1 billion mark, I am compelled to speak out in the interest of reason and respect. The current “Freedom Tower”, which is nothing more than a typical sixty story building masquerading as a skyscraper, is based on a financially conservative real estate development plan. It certainly would be more cost effective in the short-term to build a low cheap building with easier to rent office space. However, rebuilding the “Twin Towers” is matter of utmost importance. The decision to rebuild or not rebuild them will have a significant cultural and historical impact for centuries.

The Twin Towers partner to create New York’s disctinct skyline. Let us rebuild them; for their subtle beauty, glory, and elegance will suffocate the evil of terrorist acts. May our silent towers of strength deafen the cowardly outbursts of Al-Qaeda.
Pre-2001 exterior with viable helio pads on roofs and the appropriate floors commemoratively marked.
Interior updated to the height of fashion complete with elevator walls that act as memorials.
Some standing monument that has no other purpose than to memorialize those innocent victims, would serve to honor the memory of the lives lost in that great tragedy, but to rebuild says to the bastards who would like to see more people die in that fashion that we will always come back; that they cannot destroy forever that which we endeavor to create or the way in which we choose to live and work, which is a far greater testament to the souls of those great Americans.
I agree…let’s make New York, New York again! I believe seeing the Twin Towers back in that familiar skyline would unite the country (which has become evermore divided since then) and show the world that we will not change or bend to anyone’s will. It would provide healing and perhaps some closure to one of the most horrific events our country has ever endured. Did they not repair the Pentagon? If flight 93 had hit the White House, would it not have been rebuilt? Let us do the right thing now!
The terrorists knocked down the towers. REBUILDING them EXACTLY as they were would be a slap in the Terrorists’ collective faces. It would be a statement, telling them that no matter what they do, they cannot stop us…EVER.
The Twin Towers represented the ideals of the United States as well as anything. A place for unrestrained capitalism conducted by individuals from nearly every country on this planet. We need this symbol back and in the truest American fashion let’s rebuild them taller and stronger than any structures this world has ever known!
If we do not rebuild the symbols that Osama Bin Laden was so keen to destroy, then he ultimately wins. Rebuilding them – at least as tall as they were before – is essential to National pride, National Honor – and is the best way to honor the fallen.
Put the Towers back! Add a floor for an appropriate memorial, but the Towers must go back. We must show that we can indeed be knocked down by a surprise attack, but we are America and we will be back, bigger and stronger than before. The Towers were chosen as targets because they typified the United States. Any ‘alternative’ design for the WTC will simply become the Osama bin Laden memorial. Stand firm! Rebuild the Towers!
It occurs to me that a hundred years ago, this would not even have been a question. Of course they should be rebuilt. Exactly as before. No taller, no bigger. The act of destroying the the Towers is a symbol, as is the act of rebuilding them just like they were. I don’t care about sending the message. I care about rebuilding them so people can stop living in fear. Maybe one day when people look at the skyline of New York, instead of pain, they’ll feel hope.

not rebuilding the towers is as ludicrous as not rebuilding the pentagon. They are both national symbols of American excellence. Rebuild the towers in the same image, but taller than the one in Dubai!
Every time we lose something, we strive to get better. why not do the same with the Twin Towers? Do not let the terrorists win, they wanted to change the great New York skyline and if we do not rebuild the Twins, they would have done so.
Please honor the memories of those who died in the attack and those who continue to die to ensure this will never happen again! After 7 long years, something needs to be done, NOW. One big, pointed garden center is not enough. We need the Twin Towers back and better than ever!
Rebuild this grand icon of America’s (and the world’s) constant yearning for freedom and goodwill. The F. T. looks OK, but the spire that reduces actual “true” floor levels is cowardly and screams, “We’re scared that they’ll attack us again.” Also, the extra emphasis on the glass surface seems to say, “Those old towers just weren’t elegant enough,” which is insulting to our pride in USA’s rich architectural history. Finally, the name “Freedom” is redundant, as any US icon has freedom implied.
I am from upstate and I joined after sept. 11. I wonder why it is taking so long to rebuild in a major American city. After we have invaded and started rebuilding two foriegn countries. It’s a shame. Rebuild the twin towers.
My brother was just deployed to Afghanistan (8/22/08) In early April me a my brother went to New Jersey to pick up a car I purchased on E-Bay, we had never been to New York we decided to fly into La Guardia airport, rent a car and pay our respects. 9/11 is the reason my bother joined the Army. We believe the Twin Towers should always be Twin Towers! I’ve followed the rebuilding online and I’ve never liked the current Freedom tower (or any single Tower scenario). This is why I signed this petition.
All these years after 9-11, after all the lives sacrificed to stop the evil that brought down the towers we can’t let a hole in the skyline stand as a monument to the effectiveness of terrorism where once stood a proud monument to American hard work and ingenuity.
Rebuild the World Trade Center in it’s original form, obviously designed to withstand any unlikely future aircraft impact, but raise them one floor higher as an act of defiance against tyranny.
This what america needs to do to show that the people of this great country have noot given up, and have not succomed to fear. I hope to once again view the skyline of NY, and see those towers representing Americas drive to overcome adversity, and that we will prevail.
I am a New Yorker and the wife of a veteran who served in Iraq. I was there the day the towers fell, and I feel that the towers should be rebuilt. This freedom tower is in my humble opinion, a mockery. For those who perished that day and those who continue to give their lives overseas, bring back the towers.
To rebuild the World Trade Center anything less than what it was before 9/11 would be a disgrace not only to all who were lost there, but to all New Yorkers, this entire Nation and the rest of the World. The Twin Towers were a symbol of strength, prosperity, freedom and peace for all the World. Not only should they be built identical to what they were before but, they should be one story taller with a massive memorial dedicated to all the people who lost their lives on this most tragic day.
Build 2 120 story bld’s with an oversized pointed toed cowboy-boot atop each one, One to put up the ARSE of Binladen, and the other for the limp wristed, spineless “ohh we can’t do anything to hurt any ones feelings” piece of SHIP, pile-of-ticks, I mean politicians, Who are supposed to be representing US, Not some Third-World Barbarians Feelings… SSG T. Scott US Army Ranger 1/75 Ret.
Rebuilding the twin towers will be the best possible memorial. It’s the only plan that shows the enemy that America will always bounce back…and better than before. Seven and a half years later jihadists are still using images of the towers falling for their own propaganda. Rebuilding the towers will take the recruiting effectiveness out of those images!
I’m contributing to the fight against terrorism abroad but we can not possibly win without an unconditional victory at home. Stepping up airport security, an increased defense budget, and the creation of the Dept. of Homeland Security are steps in the right direction. The final bayonet thrust of the war at home is the rebuilding of the Twin Towers EXACTLY as they once stood. Doing anything else disgraces the American dead and insults their families. Don’t let the terrorists succeed.
I was 7 years old when my first visit to New York. I promised myself that I would one day live in New York. The reason I wanted to live in New York was because of all of the kind and caring people and I was absolutely amazed by the WTC. I joined the military to do something for the country and the least the country can do is rebuild so that those lost on 9/11 did not die in vain.
The Twin Towers should be rebuilt!!!! Anything less shows our lack of resolve. The families of the people that died that day are much more in support of the Twin Towers than the Freedom Tower. Their voices deserve to be heard and acted upon.
I thought from the beginning that the towers should be built bigger and better. Make it the tallest in the world, have radar and plane tracking and communications to identify, have battery missle and detterance. Make the towers the most valuable businness center in the world, put lights on top for brilliance and tracking spotlight and laser guided missles. If there will be an attack, they will attack anything in a city. Lets show these terrorists who’s boss. Lets start using lasar guided missles, drones
For the families and friends and military members…. We will rebuild. My uncle which is a firefighter for the Red Hook Brooklyn NY Happy Hookers watched the towers fall. For those whom we have lost, we will never forget u. I have proof that I will never forget and neither will my children. HOOAH WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
This shouldn’t even be a question. Those towers were such a part of the city. I’ve seen the architectural proposals and heard some very impressive interviews with people who were victims of the devastation on 9/11 who are for the towers coming back. I agree.
As a former infantryman, I would like to say that rebuilding the Twin Towers to specification (or taller) would severely demoralize our enemies while uplifting the spirit and morale of Americans, as well as freedom loving people everywhere. Imagine the triumph of seeing our beloved NYC skyline restored even better than before. It is what the Greeks of antiquity would have done after such an horrific act. We must do this.
I say REBUILD!!!! To not rebuild sends a message to other countries that is not a favorable expression of our people and what America stands for.

I do not like the idea of the single tower 1 WTC. This other 2 tower Plan looks amazing and it shows we are not intimidated by the terrorists. The buildings are great and it would be an honor to have them.
Good luck!
As a retired Army veteran of 23 years and former New Yorker (Bronx), my message is simple and to the point, REBUILD THE TOWERS!! Rebuild them just as they were, hell add some more floors and regain the “tallest in the world” title.
For god’s sake, rebuild the original and let the murderers who destroyed those buildings and killed all of our innocent Americans, know that they did NOT win.
It’s simple! Build what ALL Americans want which is the Twin Towers 2 and with that also make it the tallest structure in the World!!! Then when those peice of scum terrorists see what we did, it’ll show how we are not afraid and even if we are sucker punched we will carry on. God Bless America!
they should rebuild the towers better then ever as an air force member it hurt having to help at ground zero they need to rbuild those towers are the focal point of nyc i am sick and tired of hearing about one tower being build it should be 2 for god’s sake thank you
Brooklyn Born. Towers were there my whole life. Its how I knew I was home. My family and I were lucky, I had requested extended time for leave but was denied due to manning, so we left on our flights Sept 8th. The plan was to take the family to the top of the WTC and look down at the world from its observation deck. When the towers came down I was on duty again, I knew I would never be truly home again. Put them up. That’s the only real way to be American. When you’re down get up!
I respectfully suggest that we rebuild the original towers with one exception: tower one should rise nine stories taller; tower two should rise eleven stories taller. What better tribute than to follow the will of the people, especially those most affected by this devastating event? As I see it, if we do not rebuild the twin towers, then the terrorists, indeed, have won. Rebuilding the twin towers (with the noted suggestion) to their original glory would convey absolute strength and resolve. It is the right thing to do! It is the just path to take. Godspeed.
Rebuild them. They’re icons for New York, for America, and for the world. To build anything else is absolutely disgraceful and disgusting to all of us who remember that day. The people want to return to the original, not some appalling design, to make them feel better. Rebuild them, rebuild them, rebuild them.
I’m glad to see “the committee” has designed a stunning memorial to the innocent people murdered on 9/11. I’m 100% supportive of that effort. But the symbolic intent of the attack was to challenge the foundation and fabric of our nation as a whole and the structure(s) that follow the twin towers should surpass the grandeur of the original Twin Towers. I really like the design and look of One World Trade Center but the tall single tower on the New York Skyline just falls well short of the real “strength” of the original Twin Towers. The greatest generation of WWII would have had a twin towers complex rebuilt by now, much taller than the two they replaced. I’m ashamed to say that the new complex design is embarrassingly inadequate and
Rebuild the Twin Towers alongside a proper memorial on the Super Block of the World Trade Center. Anything less dishonors those who died on 9/11 and those who have died defending it since and will be viewed as a sign of weakness and decline to our enemies and the world.
I think the twin towers should be rebuilt, same design but taller. This will show the world that America will prevail and we stand together strong. I pray for all the families of the victims, and I pray that the right decision is made when rebuilding ground zero.
We rebuilt the Pentagon as it was, New York should be no different. All the excuses for not rebuilding better Twin Towers were lame, and say to the world that terrorists won that round.
A house is just a house and a Christian is supposed to just turn the other cheek, and forgive and love your enemies if you expect GOD to forgive and love you. WHAT HURTS IS THAT THE REAL REASON THE TOWERS AREN’T ALREADY REBUILT BIGGER AND BETTER IS… AS ALWAYS… MONEY. It’s SAD. Take a long look at a dollar bill. Some glory seeking lawyer will eventually get “IN GOD WE TRUST” removed. In greed we trust would fit nicely, but the world already knows, and it’s cheaper to do nothing. I’m glad and proud to have served when I was young and IGNORANT. GREED has led us all down the wrong path and doing the RIGHT thing only occurs when it’s AFFORDABLE.
TTA Note: Greed certainly has played a big part in taking Ground Zero in the wrong direction. But in terms of the actual construction, spectacular, cutting edge Twin Towers was always the most affordable and practical solution. No question about that.
It’s simple, we have never backed down from any challenge, may it be at war or peace. We have fought a race to space, we fight for equal rights, we fight for the freedoms of other nations. So should we fight to take back that what was taken? Simply, yes.
Essayons
TTA Note: “Essayons” — the motto of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers — is French for “Let Us Try.” If only the Corp of Engineers had been put in charge…
I was only 7 when the towers were attacked, but since I was a kid I always wanted to live in NYC, but as I’ve visited the city in recent years, the skyline looks weak. I never saw the towers in person. While I do understand why they’re not building them exactly as they were, after all the old towers were dated, they needed new safety features to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, but the new site just doesn’t look like New York. Rebuild new twin towers, taller and stronger than before, otherwise the terrorists got what they wanted.
I come from a generation that never lived a day with the Towers standing. My generation doesn’t know the void that is the absence of those towers. There is no greater gift to our enemies foreign and domestic than to accept defeat and not rebuild. That’s why I say rebuild. And there is no greater gift to the next generation of American adults than to restore the greatest symbol of American engagement in the global market this country ever knew.

This needs to be done to show the terrorists that they didn’t win.
It’s the right thing to do.
My fellow countrymen, it is unthinkable to not re-build these fabulous symbols of American might, innovation, and the inner strength that we all have. They symbolize what’s great about all of us -everyone. Lets do it. – LT Hayes
We’re kicking their butts over there.
DO NOT hand the terrorists a win OVER HERE.
Dump the political correct bullchips and REBUILD!

The Twin Towers partner to create New York’s disctinct skyline. Let us rebuild them; for their subtle beauty, glory, and elegance will suffocate the evil of terrorist acts. May our silent towers of strength deafen the cowardly outbursts of Al-Qaeda.

Lest We Forget
Pre-2001 exterior with viable helio pads on roofs and the appropriate floors commemoratively marked.
Interior updated to the height of fashion complete with elevator walls that act as memorials.
HOOAH!!
Rebuild. DON’T REVISE!
Don’t let them win rebuild the twin towers please.
God,country and the Corps
Get ‘er done! Build baby build!
oorah!
What better way to stand up to cowardly aggression?
Rebuild! Rebuild bigger and better!
Where do I send my contribution to this effort?
Rebuild the towers! Bring NY back!
The Twin Towers represented the ideals of the United States as well as anything. A place for unrestrained capitalism conducted by individuals from nearly every country on this planet. We need this symbol back and in the truest American fashion let’s rebuild them taller and stronger than any structures this world has ever known!
New York is not New York without the twin towers!
If we do not rebuild the symbols that Osama Bin Laden was so keen to destroy, then he ultimately wins. Rebuilding them – at least as tall as they were before – is essential to National pride, National Honor – and is the best way to honor the fallen.
defeat islamic terrorism and politically correct mediocrity with the same blow: rebuild the towers.
Make them taller!
Maybe one day when people look at the skyline of New York, instead of pain, they’ll feel hope.

rebuild the twin towers :)
HOOAH! Build them even higher than before and show them that no one can take America down!!!
not rebuilding the towers is as ludicrous as not rebuilding the pentagon. They are both national symbols of American excellence. Rebuild the towers in the same image, but taller than the one in Dubai!
Rebuild-Hooah!
Get these towers back up!
Americans are not afraid. Build them bigger, better, and stronger than ever. Let us worry about protecting them.
I think it would send a clear signal to the rest of the world that we will not be intimidated.

Good luck!
The WTC II plan is absolutley amazing! It would send a very clear message to the entire World about America’s resiliency!
I’m 28, in the US Navy and I support the motion to REBUILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Godspeed.
Rebuild. Rebuild. Rebuild.
